loving lately: November!

November is almost in the books and December is a blink away! This has been the fastest year - ever. Wow... I feel like it just started and here it's almost over. Today I am rounding up some of my favorite purchases this month... cozy sweaters, some lounge and a few deals I got over all the Cyber week sales. (Some are still on sale!) Let's take a look...

wool scarf (you can see it on here) - I love this neutral color and the scarf has great shape so it drapes really nicely.

cashmere ribbed sweater (you can see it on here) - I own this in white from last year and couldn't resist this beige color, it's gorgeous in person and a great price. I went up a size to medium for a more oversized fit.

puff sleeve turtleneck sweater (you can see it on here) - this is an instant classic! I love that you can dress it up or down and the fabric is so soft too. I went up a size to medium because it's a little cropped.

scallop trim pointelle sweater (you can see it on here) - I couldn't resist this sweater on sale, it's so pretty in person. It is a little itchy, not enough that I mind it, but if you are sensitive, keep it in mind. I went with my usual size small.

plaid top (you can see it on here and here) - I've got a few holiday parties to plan outfits for and this is definitely going to be in the mix! This top runs big, I went down a size to and extra small.

ribbed glove/mittens - my winter gloves and mittens have been in real need of updating and I love these! Lightweight but warm, I've been using them for dog walks and they are lightweight so they slip in coat pockets or a purse easily. They would make a great gift too!

sweatshirt and sweatpants - These are SO incredibly soft and my winter loungewear really needed an upgrade. I plan on wearing these A LOT. Based on reviews I went down a size in the bottoms to a size XS and I went with my usual size small for the top.

camp socks - I stock up on a few pairs of these every winter when they go on sale. They are SO cozy. I like to wear them with winter boots or just around the house for lounging. They are a J.Crew staple!

loving lately: October!

I am still trying to wrap my head around how quickly October (and really, September too) went by. Wow. It was an absolute blur.... and to be honest, I would like a do over. Ha ha. Kidding, but also not. The end of the fall season is almost here and I am not ready for winter... is anyone ever really ready for winter? I think not. I digress... let's talk October!

Each month I round up my favorite purchases for the month and this month my shopping was lighter than others as I really enjoyed unpacking sweaters and coats and fall items from previous seasons. I LOVE new clothes, believe me... it's my favorite. But there is something special about unpacking last years favorites and falling in love with them all over again. I preach a lot about investing in basics, but this is exactly why I love investing in basics... they give back season after season.

I've been feeling like my denim needs an upgrade as a few pairs are going to be retired from my closet and there are so many new cuts this season that investing in denim was a top priority for me this month. I snagged this cropped flare pair (I also own them in black and love them) which are more of an investment and this straight leg pair which are under $100 and were also 40% off - so it was a good balance for the budget. From here until May it will be lots of coats and jackets and I always love finding new options since it can be a drag to always wear a coat, wearing a cute one helps! This sherpa coat is SO dreamy and warm and I've been wearing the heck out of this ultra practical quilted liner. I bought this sweater and love  it so much I've already worn it three times... it's really beautiful in person and I think it's on sale right now too! Finally, I'm an UGG lover and I snagged the UGG minis which are all the rage now in brown. It's not been cold enough to wear them yet... but I'm really looking forward to it. So that's that! If you are looking for some high quality basics for the cooler weather... these are items I own and love!

cropped flare jeans (I go with my bigger size in this brand), UGG minis, sherpa coat (true to size, I purchased my usual size small), straight leg jeans (I went with my bigger size since they don't have a lot of stretch), black quilted jacket (I went with my usual size small and it fits oversized, if you are between sizes, you may want to size down), brown sweater (true to size, I purchased my usual size small)

loving lately: September

I'm not exactly sure how we are at the end of September already, wow, where did this month go? But alas, here we are. It's been a busy and full month and as far as shopping I stocked up on fall basics like sweaters, jackets and a new pair of jeans. I also did a HUGE closet clean out that included taking out all my winter items and sorting through those as well as summer items before packing them away. It felt SO good to clean out some of the old and donate or consign and then make room for a few new pieces while also unpacking favorites from previous seasons.

Every month I round up some favorite purchases from the past month and September had a lot of instant favorites and many pieces that are already heavy in the rotation. Some items are low stock so I linked to several retailers. Let's take a look...

cardigan shop here or here (true to size), jeans (I went with my smaller size), headband, birkenstock clogs shop here, here, here or here, ribbed half zip sweatshirt shop here or here (runs big, I went down a size), button front fleece jacket shop here or here (I went down a size), grey sweater shop here or here (I went up a size for a roomier fit), fleece half zip shop here or here (true to size)

loving lately: august 2022!

It's time to chat about August purchases that I loved... August was all about adding transitional pieces to my closet alongside adding a few new fall items as well.  This month I focused on building blocks for my wardrobe like new denim styles (I can't get enough of the wide leg denim trend) and simple essentials like some chambray pieces which are so easy to wear and mix and match. I also got some new shoes that I am very excited about and what says back-to-school season better than some new shoes? I was also very excited to add this quilted jacket to my coat and jacket line up after having bought it in brown last fall. It was an instant classic and it will make cooler days much happier this fall.

floral top (true to size), chambray dress (true to size), chambray top (runs oversized), wide leg jeans (I went with my bigger size), loafers (runs big, I went with my smaller size), patch pocket wide leg pants (I went with my bigger size), woven mules (true to size), quilted jacket (runs big, I went down a size)

loving lately - July!

Each month I round up a few items I purchased over the past month that are making me very happy. July is always a weird in-between time for shopping... there is the Nordstrom Anniversary sale for fall items but most retailers are only offering summer items on sale so selection can be slim. Also it's my birthday month so I like to splurge a *little*...

For the Nordstrom Anniversary sale I stocked up on boring items like bras and socks which were in need of replacing in my closet. I also bought this dress and this sweater that are both now sadly sold out (but watch for restocks because they have restocked a few sizes a few times). Also very sadly sold out (but check the website for availability at your local store!) is this perfume. The internet is raving about it and I originally tried the sample pack for this brand and LOVE the Missing Person scent. It's so good for everyday. I found a few other fun items that are also now sold out - items go QUICK during sale season, ya know?

Some other highlights for July shopping are this ruffle sleeve top (true to size) and white jeans (I went with my bigger size) - both of which have gotten lots of summer wear and are just so dang cute in person! I found some gorgeous dresses on sale for summer at Banana Republic - this black one and this white one - both are also true to size. The Banana Republic sale section has some amazing deals, I highly recommend those two dresses too, they are really great in person. Finally a few new neutral accessories include these sandals and this crossbody bag. Both are perfect for late summer. Lastly I highly recommend this gorgeous blue sweater (true to size) and it's on major sale right now. I can't resist a sweater... even in the summer!

loving lately for June!

Since it's almost the end of the month I am rounding up a few items I purchased and LOVED for June. We have a beach vacation coming up I snagged a new hat and this striped sarong for the beach. Also I bought this eyelet dress and rattan box clutch that I will definitely be packing for our vacation too. This rattan box clutch is quite small and fits just the basics, I can't really say it's ultra practical, but it's gorgeous in person. Plus I love to use a small clutch in the summer for events or travel so I know it will get plenty of use for years to come. I found some really fun pieces at Evereve recently including this gauze bubble top, it can be worn on or off the shoulders, but I prefer to wear mine on the shoulders.  You can find more of my Evereve finds here. Lastly in the super practical and affordable category is this white tee (coming in at only $17) which is really soft and perfectly drapey, these white birkenstock slides (so comfortable!) and this striped tee (great basic!).

stripe beach sarong, hat, eyelet dress, white birkenstock slides, gauze bubble top (can be worn on or off the shoulders, I wear mine on the shoulders), rattan box clutch, striped tee, white tee

loving lately: May 2022!

Today I'm rounding up my favorite purchases from May... I mostly went with easy basics this month for warmer days. Tanks and other basics that can be dressed up or down... I rounded up sizing info for all the pieces below!

black ruffle tank dress - runs true to size, review say it's see through, but I don't think it's a problem.

white necklace - great for layering! I love wearing mine with a coin necklace

bikini top & bottom - true to size and SO comfy! I just adore this unique super stretchy fabric

tiered skirt - runs big, I went down a size. This is SO fun and twirly for summer.

black tank - true to size, great for layering or on it's own for hot days

white tank - love the buttons, runs a bit big, but I went with my usual size small

blue sweater - true to size, the colors are SO pretty in person

sneakers - these run a touch big, I'm between a 6.5/7 in shoes and went with a 6.5

loving lately, April

News flash! It's almost MAY... like what!?!? This month has been so fast and furious, I hardly know where it's gone. Today I'm rounding up some of my favorite purchases from April in a new-ish series that's called Loving Lately. You can see past round ups here. This month was all about shopping for spring and summer staples - even though the weather is just NOT cooperating. To say my closet is ready for warmer weather is quite the understatement... let's take a look at my favorites this month.

white gauzey short sleeve top, this top is so soft and lightweight it's the perfect piece for warm sunny days, I'm going to be wearing this A LOT once the weather warms. True to size.

olive flutter sleeve gauze top, I'm obsessed with this fabric and the flutter sleeves are just gorgeous. Plus, this is super budget friendly! True to size.

pale green tank, easy tanks like this are a staple I my spring and summer wardrobe. This one works great under jackets or on it's own and this pale green color is SO pretty. True to size.

distressed hem jeans, obsessed. That's all. I just adore these jeans. They are super flattering and the distressed hem is a fun touch. They don't have stretch but form to your body as you wear them. I went up a size.

beaded necklace, beaded necklaces are my summer obsession. They are fun on their own or layered with other necklaces and they add a fun pop of color to any look.

brown sandals, simple and classic. I love this pair! True to size.

black flutter sleeve dress, the perfect everyday dress at a crazy low price. I will wear this tons this summer. This runs big, I went down a size.

white/gold golden goose sneakers, I splurged on a new pair of Golden's and I'm in love. I went for a super simple white pair with light gold accents. It's my first plain white pair and they are perfect for warmer months with shorts, jeans or casual dresses. (I can't find my exact pair online, this pair is very similar)

enbliss bra, this came under amazing recommendations from many of you as a super comfortable bra with light padding that ALSO has a deep v-neck for spring. I LOVE this bra!

loving lately, March!

Today I am rounding up a few things I purchased and loved this month... I'm really enjoying refreshing my closet for spring weather. Now I'm just waiting for the spring weather to arrive ;) Lightweight blouses, fresh sandals and some other great basics and my closet is officially ready for warmer weather and spring break too! Let's take a look at some of my favorites from the month... they may be your next new favorite!

white dress (runs big, I went down a size to XS) - I love that this dress is super chic while also being easy to wear since it's thick t-shirt material. It also has pockets!
stripe swim cover up (true to size, I went with my usual size small) - I adore this swim cover up. It's almost long enough to be a dress so it covers nicely whether you want a break from the sun or are heading to the snack bar for pool treats!
black blouse (true to size, I went with my usual size small) - I am having a MOMENT with black blouses for spring this year. I love that they look pulled together but aren't fussy.
stripe sweater (true to size, I went with my usual size small) - This cotton sweater is SUCH a classic. It's so beautiful in person and is the perfect winter to spring transition piece.
birkenstocks (true to size) - After running my previous pair right into the ground (literally?!) I was definitely overdue for a fresh pair of Birks. These are just endless comfortable and I know I will wear the heck out of these (again).
balloon sleeve blouse (runs big, I went down a size, but you could go down 2 sizes too) - This top is super affordable and just stunning in person. I love it with shorts or jeans and it could even double as a swim cover up for spring travel.
mother jeans (I went with my bigger size, this brand runs small for me) - These jeans are just heaven. They are super soft and stretchy but also very flattering. I love the lighter rinse for the warmer months.
crochet sweater top (true to size, I went with my usual size small) - I am really loving feminine details like this sweater right now. It's so beautiful in person and another great transition piece as the weather warms up!

loving lately!

Today I'm rounding up a few items I recently purchased and am loving. A few work for now but many of them are looking forward to spring or spring break. Even though we are still knee deep in winter weather I just can't justify buying anymore winter pieces... ugh, I love my winter clothes but I'm so ready to be done with them! Let's take a look at the pieces...

cream woven bag, I've had this bag on my wishlist for a while now. The cream keeps selling out but I found it in stock for you. It's the perfect spring sports, picnic, beach/pool, haul everything tote. I've also heard it's machine washable... bonus!

pearl sandals, these are so beautiful in person and believe me will be the first thing I pack for spring break, I can't wait to wear them as the weather warms!

velcro sneakers, I've been living in these lately. I'm having problems with my foot and I love that these are super chic and stylish while also being very comfortable. It's like the best I could ask for!

relaxed denim shorts, I love to kick off the spring season with a new pair of denim shorts. This pair is perfectly relaxed and slouchy and fit so great. The denim is no stretch so they really have that designer look to them without the price tag. (these run big, I went with my smaller size)

coin necklace, I'm having a major moment with necklaces and while I usually go for more delicate options I've really been drawn to the more chunky necklaces lately. This one is so chic and goes with everything. You can wear it on it's own or layered.

black belted dress, this dress is simple and stylish and I love that it's super classic and easy to wear and also crazy affordable. I plan to absolutely live in dresses when the weather allows... I can't wait. (true to size)

black blouse, another super simple and classic piece that feels expensive but is actually super affordable. I love this one! (true to size)

green shorts, I don't love shorts but also they can be necessary for the super warm days. This pair is SO flattering. The perfect length and a high waist that really works well. (these run big, I went with my smaller size)

beige sweater, I'm so over my bulky wool sweaters... this cotton blend sweater is unbelievably soft and fluffy like a pillow in a really good way. It's the perfect lighter weight sweater to transition to spring.

white demi boot crop jeans, I'm so ready for white jeans on the regular. I previously owned this pair and absolutely ran them into the ground after a few years... I'm so glad this style is back because I just snagged them again!

what I'm loving lately!

The dead of winter is the perfect time to stock up on some essentials and wardrobe staples. Today I rounded up some items I either have my eye on right now or that I've recently purchased and LOVE. Simple classics that are comfortable are my favorite year round, but especially this time of year when getting dressed isn't nearly as fun as it can be in the summer and fall. Let's take a look at the pieces...

I'm obsessed with these black boot crop jeans, many sizes are limited but you can shop here or here or here. I went with my bigger size, this brand seems to run a little small for me. They are super flattering and comfortable and the small flare at the ankle is so fun!

I adore this puff sleeve sweatshirt, it's casual and works with joggers or leggings but you can also dress it up with jeans. I own it in two colors. I find it's true to size. I have one color in my usual size and another I went up a size for a roomier fit.

This cotton fisherman sweater is on it's way to me right now! I loved the cashmere version so much I also bought it in cotton. I went up a size in this style for a more oversized fit. The price on this is so good!

I can never resist a stripe sweater - this one is perfectly oversized and super affordable!

These suede loafers were love at first sight! I love a loafer and this pair is going to be a perfect transition to spring piece.

I've had so many of you ask for recommendations on mid-rise jeans - this pair is AWESOME! It's a modern straight leg but with an approachable mid rise. They are super comfortable and flattering too.

Do I need this charm bracelet? No. Do I really want it? Yes. It's just so fun!

I've had my eye on this woven tote for a while. Now... to choose a color. This black color? Maybe white? Maybe a fun color?

This cashmere fisherman sweater is SO beautiful in person. Oh my goodness. And it's about 1/3 of the price of similar options I've seen on Instagram. I went up a size for a roomier fit.
