loving lately - July!

 Each month I round up a few items I purchased over the past month that are making me very happy. July is always a weird in-between time for shopping... there is the Nordstrom Anniversary sale for fall items but most retailers are only offering summer items on sale so selection can be slim. Also it's my birthday month so I like to splurge a *little*... 

For the Nordstrom Anniversary sale I stocked up on boring items like bras and socks which were in need of replacing in my closet. I also bought this dress and this sweater that are both now sadly sold out (but watch for restocks because they have restocked a few sizes a few times). Also very sadly sold out (but check the website for availability at your local store!) is this perfume. The internet is raving about it and I originally tried the sample pack for this brand and LOVE the Missing Person scent. It's so good for everyday. I found a few other fun items that are also now sold out - items go QUICK during sale season, ya know?

Some other highlights for July shopping are this ruffle sleeve top (true to size) and white jeans (I went with my bigger size) - both of which have gotten lots of summer wear and are just so dang cute in person! I found some gorgeous dresses on sale for summer at Banana Republic - this black one and this white one - both are also true to size. The Banana Republic sale section has some amazing deals, I highly recommend those two dresses too, they are really great in person. Finally a few new neutral accessories include these sandals and this crossbody bag. Both are perfect for late summer. Lastly I highly recommend this gorgeous blue sweater (true to size) and it's on major sale right now. I can't resist a sweater... even in the summer!

 I know a lot of you are starting to think about fall fashion... and SO. AM. I.  It's one of my favorite seasons to shop for and it always feels like such an amazing fresh start for my close too. While I've been craving fall fashion, it's not quite time to start wearing fall fashion yet. Summer weather is still in full force but you can start to transition your outfits to feel a little more like fall until it's time for sweaters and layers. 

Today's looks are perfect for the warm weather now, but hint a bit at fall with fresh denim silhouettes, loafers and black jeans. Small and subtle touches that feel more like fall than summer while still working for everyday wear. 

You can wear all of these looks now or add a trench coat or blazer to the looks as the weather cools.

summer to fall inspiration!

Somehow it's AUGUST next week... this summer has absolutely flown by and it's been such a good one. I'm a little sad to see it over so quickly but it's been full and fun and I'll be ready for the transition to fall and all that brings. There aren't a lot of retailers that are carrying full blown fall items (yet) but there are definitely hints of fall in items here and there.  These items are great for wearing now and will help to transition outfit to fall as well. You can wear this floral dress now or with a denim jacket this fall, a lightweight sweater is perfect over the shoulders for a cold restaurant or evening now and will be a staple this fall with jeans. I'm smitten with this sweater tank and cardigan set... wear the tank now and add the cardigan later. This sweater tank or a sweater polo tee will give those fall vibes even on warm fall days. For a rainy day grab a trench coat over your sundress and then layer the trench over sweaters for summer... you get the idea! 

Cooler weather usually hits my area - at least in the evenings and mornings - come September so we are getting close to at least a slight cool down!

 Blue is such an easy color to wear all year long, but I love it especially in the summer. It's one of my favorite colors to help transition to new seasons too. So if you are starting to think about fall style blue works now and works for later too. Today I pulled together some gorgeous blue hues to pair with white, beige or denim for the late summer.

Fourth of July style!

 It's almost impossible to believe that Fourth of July is less than two weeks away! It's such a fun time of the summer and I love to plan a few patriotic looks to celebrate. I've had a lot of requests for business casual looks as many people are headed back to the office in some form or another. what to pack: European trip!

 I'm back with a new 'what to pack' post today! I had A LOT of requests for what to pack for Europe this summer. There are a lot of you headed to specifically London and Paris for European adventures. I pulled together lots of comfortable pieces that mix and match easily and also pack easily. I went for pieces that will look pulled together for dining, shopping, museums and tours. Paris and London are very stylish cities and while it's not necessary to be 'dressed up' all day these pieces will help you feel pulled together.  London and Paris can have more mild summer weather so I included some lightweight pieces and some layers too. 

Other item you might want to add (that I ran out of room here for) include maybe a pair of white jeans, perhaps a dressier dinner shoe (heel or sandal) and a denim jacket or blazer if you wanted more layering options. This list is by no means exhaustive, but a good place to start!

loving lately: May 2022!

Today I'm rounding up my favorite purchases from May... I mostly went with easy basics this month for warmer days. Tanks and other basics that can be dressed up or down... I rounded up sizing info for all the pieces below!

black ruffle tank dress - runs true to size, review say it's see through, but I don't think it's a problem.

white necklace - great for layering! I love wearing mine with a coin necklace

bikini top & bottom - true to size and SO comfy! I just adore this unique super stretchy fabric

tiered skirt - runs big, I went down a size. This is SO fun and twirly for summer.

black tank - true to size, great for layering or on it's own for hot days

white tank - love the buttons, runs a bit big, but I went with my usual size small

blue sweater - true to size, the colors are SO pretty in person

sneakers - these run a touch big, I'm between a 6.5/7 in shoes and went with a 6.5
