on my radar: January 2023!

I just LOVE the fresh start of a new year... it's so cheesy, but I do. It gives me such a good reset mentally especially after a nice long break for the holidays. I'm excited for all that 2023 holds, but also... for the fun new clothes too! I'll be honest! I'm looking forward to spring styles, new trends and fun new inspiration and I love to find inspiration in clothing. Today I'm rounding up some new finds that are inspiring me this new year... I hope they inspire you too!

suede bucket bag, bucket style bags are going to be a big trend this year and I love a tote and a bucket bag is like half a tote ;) so I am really into this trend! This suede option is gorgeous!

striped sweater, the striped sweater had a big resurgence in popularity this past fall. It's always been a classic and this one is here to stay during the winter and into spring. It's so easy to wear!

black checked coat, winter has me craving all the beautiful coats! This tight check pattern is so chic and is giving off major 'cool French girl' vibes.

brown cotton ribbed sweater, new year, same me. I just LOVE a good sweater. Especially a cotton sweater lately. The fabric is seasonless and so easy and comfortable to wear.

split hem jeans, a fun take on the classic skinny jeans! These split hem jeans are SO fun! It's also another way to ease into longer hemlines, which will also be making a comeback this year. I love an ankle crop, but I'm open to trying new things too.

pebbled leather tote, this tote just screams "New Year" to me. Simple and streamlined, beautiful and practical.  Everything I crave for my closet.

shearing lined Birkenstock clog, I might break down and buy these. I just love my Boston clogs so much and these would be perfect "house shoes" - and I would wear them out as long as there is no snow too!

straight leg jeans, these seem to be the style everyone is talking about these days. They have been in my cart for a few weeks!

heart bracelet, anything and everything with a heart, please. Especially near Valentines day!

sherpa toggle coat, I saw something similar on Shea from McGee & Co on her new Netflix show (it's so good and her outfit are SO good!) and I can't stop thinking about it. It's in my cart!

new in neutral!

If you are looking for a closet refresh this New Year, then I have some gorgeous neutrals to inspire you today! Cozy and super versatile pieces that fit the January mood just perfectly! I was recently perusing some of the new arrivals at H&M and found SO many gorgeous pieces that my January closet will LOVE and of course, all on budget too.

Today's outfits are inspired by some really fun and affordable pieces from H&M that I think you will love too! Let's take a look at the outfits!

(above) Athleisure is definitely a vibe I am digging into for January. This oversized sweater is perfect over a workout tank and leggings for a chic just from the gym look (or actually coming from the gym!). This spring the sweater will transition perfectly to warmer weather or a spring break swim cover up. So it's super versatile!

(above) The satchel, loafers, turtleneck and blazer combo are giving me major 90s vibes in the best way possible. I love these simple neutrals all paired together for retro yet very modern look.

(above) Cozy layers are an everyday necessity for winter and a striped sweater and quilted jacket are perfectly of-the-moment and practical too. You can't beat that type of combo!

If you haven't snagged some holiday pjs yet, now is the time! They are selling fast. Christmas Eve isn't the same without a new pair of pjs in our family. From cozy plaids and sherpa robes to the classics like navy tipped poplin pjs, there is something here for everyone. Personally, I wouldn't mind one of each!

winter basics

When the weather turns cold and gloomy and I realized we are facing this for the next 5 months, I am always thankful for the solid basics in my closet.  For the colder months I am always trying to strike that perfect balance between cute and warm... it's not always easy and there are definitely times when you just have to throw cute out the window! But I find that having warm coats, cozy soft sweaters and some great scarves and mittens help keep the cold at bay while hopefully looking presentable (except for dog walks, I usually look like the abominable snowman for those, cuteness is straight out the window!). Today I pulled together some really gorgeous basics that make facing the harsh winter days a little easier and more stylish! Hopefully...

It's officially plaid season! There is nothing more festive than a little pop of plaid in the coming weeks leading up to the holidays. It always looks so classic and sharp. You can dress it up for a holiday party with a skirt and heels, layer with it for a cozy winter look or pair it with a blazer for a casual office look or dinner out with friends. I hope you enjoy this plaid inspiration for the coming weeks!

6 ways to style: velcro sneakers!

I will be the first to admit that YES, I am shocked that I fell in love with a pair of velcro sneakers... but this is where I am at right now guys. I had seem them on a few other gals and wondered if I could pull them off. When they arrived I realized 'hey, these are pretty cute in person' and when I tried them on, it was love at first sight. I love that they are so modern and of the moment... trendy sneakers just keep going and going as far as trends go, and I am here for it.

This pair also runs a touch small for Veja sneakers. Which for me works really well because many of the Veja styles I've tried (I think I've tried seriously EVERY pair) seem to run big. I'm between a 6.5/7 and this pair is a 37. I also wear size 37 in Golden Goose and Birkenstocks. That's how I know Veja run a little big because I've had other brands in size 37 fit great and many styles of the Veja don't. This pair fits JUST right. Here I styled them into 6 outfits I love - they make me feel *much* cooler than I actually am, so I'm really feeling myself over here. Haha! Also, while other Veja styles can be very stiff or take a while to break in, I was pleasantly surprised that this pair is very comfortable right out of the box.

pale & pastel hues for late winter!

Anyone else feel like January is never ending at this point? Wow. It's just going on and on. I'm eager to get past these last months of winter and move on to spring. Like, extremely eager. These fun pastel hues are the perfect inspiration for the end of January. These pieces work now for chilly temps but definitely hint at spring in a MUCH needed way. I'm excited to add some freshness to my closet right now and there is so much good inspiration here!

what I'm loving lately!

The dead of winter is the perfect time to stock up on some essentials and wardrobe staples. Today I rounded up some items I either have my eye on right now or that I've recently purchased and LOVE. Simple classics that are comfortable are my favorite year round, but especially this time of year when getting dressed isn't nearly as fun as it can be in the summer and fall. Let's take a look at the pieces...

I'm obsessed with these black boot crop jeans, many sizes are limited but you can shop here or here or here. I went with my bigger size, this brand seems to run a little small for me. They are super flattering and comfortable and the small flare at the ankle is so fun!

I adore this puff sleeve sweatshirt, it's casual and works with joggers or leggings but you can also dress it up with jeans. I own it in two colors. I find it's true to size. I have one color in my usual size and another I went up a size for a roomier fit.

This cotton fisherman sweater is on it's way to me right now! I loved the cashmere version so much I also bought it in cotton. I went up a size in this style for a more oversized fit. The price on this is so good!

I can never resist a stripe sweater - this one is perfectly oversized and super affordable!

These suede loafers were love at first sight! I love a loafer and this pair is going to be a perfect transition to spring piece.

I've had so many of you ask for recommendations on mid-rise jeans - this pair is AWESOME! It's a modern straight leg but with an approachable mid rise. They are super comfortable and flattering too.

Do I need this charm bracelet? No. Do I really want it? Yes. It's just so fun!

I've had my eye on this woven tote for a while. Now... to choose a color. This black color? Maybe white? Maybe a fun color?

This cashmere fisherman sweater is SO beautiful in person. Oh my goodness. And it's about 1/3 of the price of similar options I've seen on Instagram. I went up a size for a roomier fit.

everlane favorites!

Today I am rounding up TONS of my Everlane favorites... from sweater to tees to leggings I just love Everlane's simple and classic wardrobe basics.  There is a balance of some investment pieces with some really affordable pieces here and all of them are super high quality. I've owned some of these Everlane pieces for many years and some are newer to me. I'm always impressed by Everlane's quality and that their pieces never seem to go out of style.

For 24 hours only they have 25% off regular priced items sitewide... they RARELY do sales like this. I think the last one was 2 years ago! So super rare and it's a great time to invest in some really quality basics for your closet that will last for many, many seasons to come. Let's take a look at some of my long time favorites...

24/7 leggings (true to size)cashmere waffle knit mock neck (true to size), striped polo collar sweater, black smocked dress, camel mock neck cashmere (true to size), cashmere crewneck (true to size, I went up a size for a roomier fit), half zip sweatshirt (true to size), turtleneck sweatshirt (true to size), black t-shirt (fits oversized, I went with my usual size), sneakers (runs big, I went down a half size), cross sandals (true to size), black Chelsea boots (true to size), striped top

Here are three head to toe outfits I recently styled with the new Everlane leggings (which I can not recommend enough, btw) if you are looking for outfit inspiration!

Instagram lately!

Today I've got a round up of inspiration from Instagram lately... I love pulling these posts together to see all the recent looks in one place. It makes for such good inspiration for daily outfits, especially this time of year when it's so cold and it's difficult to feel inspired.

I've really been trying to get dressed everyday even with the bad weather we have had that has kept us mostly home and indoors. It helps my mental attitude to get ready and be dressed everyday. Plus, let's be honest, it makes slipping into pjs or sweats at the end of the day that much more of a prize!

Hopefully some of these looks inspire you this month...

(above) Sneakers and a puff sleeve sweatshirt are a great everyday look for keeping it casual but feeling pulled together.

(above) I'm loving blue hues for winter because they work so well right now and will work for spring too. It's such a versatile color.

(above) Both of these Amazon sweaters have been two of my favorites this season. They are SO pretty and high quality in person.
Shop the look: cable knit sweater (this sweater is mens, I got my usual size for an oversized fit), striped sweater (I went up a size), light jeans, dark jeans, clogs, similar leopard shoes

(above) I can't resist a half zip fleece this time of year. Perfect for wearing around the house on ultra cold days or with layers for running errands on milder days. This one is so soft and affordable too!

(above) This super affordable cashmere is on serious repeat lately. The price is SO good and the quality is great. It's actually one of the thicker cashmere sweaters I own. This sweater makes any outfit feel instantly pulled together.
Shop the look: jeans, sweater (true to size), loafers

(above) Anyone else on a daily sweater and jean rotation? I mean, I LOVE sweaters. And I'm not even sick of them (yet) this winter! These are some of my favorites!
