what to wear: weekend!
It's New Years Eve this weekend! Yay! We usually celebrate with a quiet night at home with fondue and champagne. This year we might switch it up a bit, we are still undecided. But either way it's fun to dress up a little (or a lot) and celebrate trading in one amazing year for the hopes of another amazing year. Either way... here's a few fun outfit options that are inspiring me...

what to pack: faux-cation!
A few weeks back I was chatting with my gal-pal Jackie on how once Christmas is over it's fun to start dreaming of a warm place to visit... and now that Christmas is indeed over (sad, but true) I find my thoughts turning to a quiet and very sunny vacation. Something along these lines...
Where the cocktails flow all day and naps while reading and sunning are mandatory. So if you care to take a faux-cation (a 'fake vacation' that is!) with me, I'm thinking we should pack along these lines...

1. stash a simple suit in your bag because you are going to be spending a lot of time in it! 2. don't forget your sun hat 3. a simple striped top to throw on after the sun goes down, this one is perfect 4. a pair of white jeans is always appropriate for vacation 5. pretty and sophisticated sandals for walking the boardwalk 6. flip flops for the sand! 7. a gorgeous tank for dinners and late night dancing 8. sunnies! 9. bring only one piece of jewelry and make it ultra fabulous like this necklace 10. don't forget to throw in a fun and swingy dress for mingling with the locals 11. denim shorts - duh! 12. be safe not sorry with a little SPF 13. a maxi dress can be thrown on over your suit for shopping or quick runs to the store 14. a simple cover up for when a cloud floats your way

work it wednesday: blank slate!
I often love to think in terms of "blank slates" for outfits. A simple combo of a pair of skinny jeans and a black turtleneck make the perfect back drop for any type of accessories. The look can easily be dressed up or dressed down and it's SO easy to pull together outfits this way! Then don't forget to check back later today when I show off how I style a similar outfit! (check out this Rachel Zoe look for less too... hint, hint... she's rocking a similar look!)

holiday survival guide: wrap it up!
Are you done with your shopping yet? If so... it's time to wrap, wrap, wrap! Wrapping can be fun if there are good distractions to keep you going! I suggest putting on a comfy outfit, popping in a classic movie (my favorites are featured below!), setting up all your supplies (I am IN LOVE with these pop-up tapes) and pouring a glass of wine and getting down to business! Even better... invite a couple of friends over to join you.

Recently I worked with Jessica... she works in a business casual environment and wanted outfits for work and for casual weekend activities. Her main complaint was that while she felt like she had a lot of clothing, her closet never felt cohesive. Which is something that I hear a lot from the clients I work with.
A lot of times women will shop sporadically as they find things on sale or for a good 'deal'. But then they end up with all these random items. That is why I highly recommend shopping with the help of me via my wardrobe consultation services or seasonally with the help of my looks:books. It important to lay out your wants and needs and the top styles at one time and then execute the plan as you can afford.
But on to a few of the outfits I pulled together for Jessica... (these are just a few of the looks... I'll show you some more next week!)
