what to wear: Thanksgiving!

I just LOVE Thanksgiving and I am already dreaming of mashed potatoes and pies and turkey and all the fixings! Today I am rounding up four gorgeous outfits for the big feast... and the football. There are some great layers and scarves and plenty of plaid for that cozy fall feel that Thanksgiving evokes. From family gatherings big or small or friends-giving I hope that you celebrate with those you love most!

(above) This sweater dress with tall boots is classic and very of the moment at the same time. I just adore it with a pop of navy and plaid.

(above) A classic blazer and navy sweater is the perfect pulled together but relaxed look for family gatherings and watching football.

(above) This oversized sweater and black jeans is such an easy look to pull together and so chic to wear. I love it with a plaid layer on top.

(above) Simple jeans and a t-shirt is elevated with a sweater tee and loafers for a casual but pulled together look for enjoying a big meal and lots of pie for dessert!

wear to where: fall escape!

With fall color at it's peak and the holidays just around the corner lots of couples and families are squeezing in the last of fall travel. So many of you have said you are headed to the mountains, wine tasting or leaf peeping around the Midwest and East Coast. Today I pulled together beautifully layered looks for being outdoors, sightseeing, antiquing and dining out in style while staying warm too. I hope you enjoy these looks!

wear to where: fall sideline sports!

Fall sports are fully underway and while here in our house they have been going on for over a month, it's just recently that the weather has turned where t-shirt dresses and jeans and tanks (my two usual go-to combos) aren't cutting it anymore. The temps have definitely dropped especially in the evenings. I'm leaning on sweatshirts, jackets and layers for game day looks. Today I pulled together three cute and comfy game day looks for fall. With layers for warmer days and extra warm pieces for cool mornings and evenings these looks will hopefully inspire your upcoming sideline outfits for fall.

(above) Cozy pieces like Uggs and sweatshirts are perfect for nights under the lights on the bleachers or early mornings on the sidelines. Plus I love a big tote to carry all the things, like snacks, water, extra layers and more.

(above) It's all about layers for sideline sports. The weather can be so unpredictable and even totally different by halftime. Sweatshirts and joggers can be elevated with a gorgeous coat and crossbody bag.

(above) I just love a half zip for cool fall days and this one looks so cozy. Plus they work great layered with tees or tanks for more warmth or for sunny afternoons.

wear to where: fall business casual!

According to my DMs a lot of you are heading back to the office this fall. I've gotten lots of messages about what to wear to the office and for more office outfit ideas. Today I am pulling together business causal looks with jeans and business casual looks without jeans since those were the top requests for wear to the office outfits. If I were working in a business casual environment these are looks I would love to wear! I love that some of the pieces are versatile enough to wear "off duty" with jeans on the weekends too.

(above) If jeans are allowed in your office I highly recommend this simple pair of cropped flares. Pair it with a tank and blazer for a chic pulled together look that can also transition easy to mom duties after work (just shed the blazer!).

(above) Camel trousers are super versatile and I love them paired with monochromatic layers for the fall. Add some trendy but chic chunky loafers and you are taking meetings in style!

(above) Deep jewel tones like navy and burgundy are gorgeous for fall office looks. These wide leg navy trousers are super versatile and will work with blue tops or white tops for the office as well!

(above) A simple and classic dress is an easy one-and-done look for the office this fall. Pair it with loafers and a tote for your laptop and lunch and you are set!
Shop the look: utility style dress (also available in black), loafers, woven tote, glasses, necklace

wear to where: spring sports sidelines!

Spring sports are in FULL SWING in my house. Oh my word does my calendar look scary these days... kidding, kind of. I'm happy to get back out the fields/courts to cheer on my kids and always try to look pulled together but casual. Right now I'm still wearing winter coats to events but by next week we should finally be in full swing warmer weather and I can't wait to wear some cute looks on the sidelines.

Today I pulled together 3 simple but pulled together looks for the sidelines this spring...

(above) I love how easy a tank dress is for warm weather. You can add a jacket if needed and sneakers make it easy for schlepping coolers and stadium chairs all around.

(above) Jeans and sweatshirts are my go-to for spring sports. This bag is so cute and it's actually a cooler bag! Great for cold drinks or orange wedges... ;)

(above) This mama sweatshirt is adorable and I love it paired with a big tote and easy denim shorts.

wear to where: everyday spring looks from the Shopbop sale!

The Shopbop BUY MORE, SAVE MORE sale is here! This sale only comes around two times a year and it's such a big deal because these are brands that rarely go on sale and it's a great time to make some investment purchases. Shopbop is definitely more designer-y than most department stores but I think there are still some great affordable or mid-range price point pieces that are available and included in the sale! Some styles sell out quickly so snag them now if you want them.

I have used this sale in the past to invest in some amazing pieces that I've now owned for many years. It's always a sale I enjoy shopping. Today I pulled together three spring everyday looks that are head to to on sale... I hope you love this inspiration! Happy shopping!

wear to where: beach vacation!

It's that time of year when everyone is heading somewhere warm to escape the cold winter! I've gotten lots of reader requests for warm weather vacation wear and today I am delivering....

Today I focused mostly on swim looks with outfits that work for the beach or pool whether you are escaping on a couples only trip or taking the entire family. All of these looks are focused on style and comfort while on the beach or at the pool. I hope you find lots of inspiration here... I know I am ready to book a trip ASAP.

wear to where: the gym!

I rarely resolve to work out more for the New Year, but I am more inspired to stock up on a few new pieces for my fitness wardrobe in the dead of the winter. It's a small sliver of joy. This year I am resolving to WALK more which unfortunately involves the treadmill... I would love to be able to do it outside but the weather doesn't usually play along this time of year. Walking is so refreshing for me and I always feel my best when I'm getting my 10,000 steps regularly. 2020 taught me to walk out the stress and the tension and it's not only good for your body... it's been amazing for my mind too. I'll blast music or listen to a podcast or sometimes just tune into nature (when outside) and just leave the problems of the world behind.

But whether you are walking more, meeting up with friends as accountability partners or just staying with your usual fitness schedule... some new workout outfits always make the process a little more fun! Here are some really fun looks I pulled together - I hope you find some inspiration here!

(above) Joggers and cozy layers make for the perfect running around town look... or to meet with your new workout buddy to start the year right!

(above) Go BOLD in bright pinks and a monochrome look to get motivated to feel your best by spring! I love this ensemble... so cute!

(above) Chic and sleek this fun look is perfect for meeting a bestie for a walk or hitting up some low intensity yoga to start the year on a zen note.

wear to where: cold winter days!

Baby it's cold outside! I'm back in winter boots again for dog walks, errands and every time I leave the house basically! I would much rather a cute pair of flats or some comfy sneakers but it's been bitterly cold and snowy here, so there isn't much of a choice.

I've had a lot of questions about what to wear with snow boots since there are so many denim styles these days. It's true that really only skinny jeans or leggings work well with snow boots. If you've seen some other cute ways to style boots, send them to me! But practically speaking I can't see another way. I had straight leg jeans on the other day and needed to take my dog for a quick walk and yes, I could tuck them into my boots, but it was very awkward. Here are some very cute ways to style some winter boots that I am loving this season...

wear to where: Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is only a week away! I'm so excited for this holiday this year, not sure why... maybe the mashed potatoes have something to do with it? But seriously I always love Thanksgiving and usually our family is traveling but we decided to stay home this year and I am SO looking forward to a cozy weekend at home with TONS of good food and just lots of relaxing down time.

Whether you are staying home, traveling to see family, attending a Friends-giving, ordering a meal to-go or cooking in the kitchen all day - you deserve a gorgeous outfit to celebrate this year! (In my opinion.) I've got a little something for everyone here with cozy pieces for a day at home with the family or something a little dressier if that is what you are looking forward to as well. I hope you enjoy this inspiration!

I love a sweater and denim combo and with a plaid scarf this look is perfectly festive and festive for the main event!

A gorgeous floral blouse is what I am craving for this holiday celebration! So pretty and feminine. I love it with tall boots and a gorgeous necklace set.

Sweater dresses are so popular right now and this looks perfectly pulled together and also VERY comfortable after a big meal.

An oversized sweater and your favorite pairs of jeans is a classic combo for family time!

wear to where: COLD fall travel!

Today's post is a super fun one... we are talking COLD weather. And while I am one that doesn't love cold weather, I do have to say... I'm here for cold weather fashion. Haha! Scarves and hats and boots and coats are some of my favorite pieces to shop for and when the cold weather strikes you really want to make sure you have the right clothing for it. After living in the midwest for my whole life and snowy Michigan for over half my life I've gotten pretty good at layers and keeping warm.

I thought it would be fun today pull together some cold weather inspiration a little early for those of you that might be booking cold weather travel. Wine tasting, leaf peeping, trips to the mountains or even a little early start on ski season is popular this time of year and I've got three looks perfect for those activities. Or if you just want to get an early start on winter shopping... that works too!

Stay tuned later this week for some travel inspiration for warm weather climates as well. Since that is also a very popular way to escape in the fall too...

I am in LOVE with these boots! This look is perfect for a road trip to see leaves and stop at some of your favorite sights. I would wear this for a leaf peeping trip in Northern Michigan with a stop at our favorite brewery or lunch spot!

Wine tasting in the fall is so fun here in Michigan and I'm sure in other popular wine localities around the country. Or if you even brewery tours/stops. I love that this look is a little more dressed up but perfect for staying comfortable and warm.

Layers are key when the cold weather strikes! This look is perfect for antiquing and brunching with friends in the mountains.
