under $50 finds for fall!

We've chatted before about the "magic" price point here on the blog… I think for a lot of us it's $50. I know I am included… I invest in jeans and shoes and handbags from time to time, but when I'm out shopping or perusing online there is for sure something magic about the $50 price range.

Here I pulled together a few of my favorite under $50 pieces for fall… a few fun and whimsical pieces are thrown in with some really awesome wardrobe basics that will be great to wear all fall and well into winter.  Having an amazing wardrobe isn't always about spending tons of money.  You can easily dress well on a budget by simply knowing where to shop and keeping an eye out for good deal. window-pane flannel shirt, I'm super digging this pattern and especially in flannel. So warm for fall.

lace up flats, this seasons hottest trend - I would pair these with boyfriend jeans.

plaid scarf, I can never have enough plaid scarves this time of year. This one is gorgeous and perfectly priced.

spring finds for under $50!

I've been slowly building my spring wardrobe as I have found pieces that I like… there are a few investments that I like to make each season but other than that I have found that $50 is usually the magical price point for me when building my wardrobe.

It's nice to breathe new life into your wardrobe this time of year.  I often think that just a few new items can make your entire wardrobe feel fresh.  Here I have a whole slew of perfect pieces for spring all at $50 or under… so they are perfect for stocking up on!

Fifty dollars always seems like the sweet spot for me when shopping… sure I like to invest in a piece here and there but usually I like to stay in the $50 range or lower.  (to check out my shopping budgets from month's past… click here) Plus who doesn't love a good deal?

I officially deem 2014 the year of the neutral.  I for one am obsessed… and I think you gals are feeling it too.  The thing I absolutely love about neutrals is that they can all be worn together (black with grey with beige!?! You got it!) for great layering this winter or shed a few layers for spring and you are set (white with beige for spring? Hot!).  The options are limitless and even if you love color and can't quite quit it yet then add a pop of yellow, pink, red, green to your favorite neutrals and you are set… you catch my drift!

I was recently working on some "research" (aka… online shopping) and came across a new crop of neutrals that I think you will love.  These types of casual and relaxed pieces are just what I am looking to add to my wardrobe this late spring and winter.  Plus, super bonus… all these amazing pieces are under $50!

1. grey sweater - this with white jeans and sandals for spring would be amazing! Or with jeans and riding boots and a scarf for winter!

2. beige sweater - I love the idea of this sweater with black skinny pants and flats for now or for spring!

3. moto jacket - this style jacket keeps catching my eye! Wear this over a graphic tee with jeans and ankle boots for a winter look or with white jeans for spring.

4. drapey pants - These pants are a new trend that I would love to try with sandals and a tank this spring or summer.

5. leopard spot heels - These are so classic and I love the low heel. Wear with jeans and a black top for simple and classic style.

6. tortoise bracelet - I'm in love with anything tortoise these days! This simple bracelet would add charm and class to any look.

7. black sandal pumps - I'm super drawn to black heels lately (must be all the fun I had wearing them at Alt!). I feel like you can never have too many or wear them too much (unless snow is covering the ground).

8. grey v-neck tee - I love a grey v-neck tee under blazers in cooler temps or simply with a pair of denim shorts and white sneaks in the warmer temps.

9. color block tee - This top is so modern and fun, you could dress it up with heels and skinny jeans for a night out or simply sandals for a day running errands.

10. snake skin clutch - Snake skin never really seems to go out of style. I love the bit of texture this adds to any look.  A head to toe black outfit with a fun clutch like this would be super fabulous!

11. blush set - This spring go with peach and neutral palettes like this one for beauty.  I love this combo of blushes!

12. denim skirt - I haven't worn a denim skirt in like 8 years (I remember one I wore a lot after my son was born) but it's definitely on my wish list for this spring.  These babies go with anything in your closet and are so fun to wear for spring!

fresh finds under $50 to get you excited for spring!

I don't think we need much at this point to get us excited for spring - it's a quite natural occurrence this time of year.  But if we did/do… spring clothes usually do the trick!  This is the time of year that I start irrationally shopping for pastels, tees, tanks and shorts… even though there are a few months until any of it will be worn.  Come to think of it… I do this in the summer sometimes in preparation for fall.  It's a  bad habit, I know.

Today I pulled together 12 fresh pieces for spring that are all under $50.  I haven't officially started making a spring wish list yet… but I do know it will involved some brights, some pastels and some great neutrals as well.  These pieces are definitely getting me inspired for spring shopping and warmer temperatures!

Today I've got some great fall finds for UNDER $50 for you!  If you are still working on building your fall wardrobe or filling holes here and there for cold weather wear, these pieces are sure to please!  Plus, who doesn't love a good deal now and then!?

I'd wear it... fun finds from Forever 21!

I keep meaning to stop over at Forever 21 lately... when I went earlier this summer I had great luck finding a few fun pieces and I knew that would be the case for fall as well.  So instead of heading to the mall I just checked out a few of their online offerings.

There is always tons and tons of pieces to comb through at Forever 21 (online or in their stores), but in the end it's worth the work to find a cheap thrill or two.  Plus, every wardrobe needs a few trendy pieces to keep it fresh and Forever 21 always delivers on that front. I always get questions about sizing at Forever 21... usually I go up a size at Forever 21 or for a jacket or sweatshirt that you might want to be more roomy and relaxed I can easily go up two sizes.

I was pleasantly surprised by the goodies I found and I think you will like some of these pieces too...

I really enjoy pulling together posts that focus on one specific price point.  While I love to make investments in my wardrobe here and there, I would say that $50 is my sweet spot for shopping.  With coupons and promotions (or just really great prices!) it is considered a special occasion when I spend over $50 on a piece of clothing.  In fact you can see my recent spending by month here and notice that just a handful of items are in the over $50 category.

February seems like a transitional month for clothes. While I'm still wearing sweaters daily, my sights are definitely set on spring.  But buying t-shirts in a snow storm does seem a little silly (right? or is that my imagination?).

Next month I will likely start hitting the spring shopping seriously, but this month I am focusing on filling gaps in my wardrobe, season-less pieces and simple classics that I simply can't go wrong on.  So if you are in the mood to shop this month without going full on into spring mode... here are some fun pieces under $50 to invest in!
