jeans I love THE INDEX!

Way back in February (which feels like 20 years ago at this point!) I posted a series all about the jeans I love... from how each pair fits, to why I love it and some of my favorite ways to style them... the posts have it ALL! Today I'm going to pull all of the posts together into one easy reference point, but I will also link to the original posts too if you would like to reference them.

Denim is a HUGE staple in my wardrobe and I'm always getting questions about what the best pairs are or what pairs I love the most. I don't take shopping for jeans lightly! It's not easy... you know? So the jeans I selected for this series really had to be the best of the best. The jeans I chose are mom-friendly and perfect for everyday wear with a few fun trendy options thrown in there too. There are always more cuts and styles I am discovering so I may add to this post in the future. But in the meantime, you really can't go wrong with any of these styles.

You can see the entire archive of the series HERE but today I am rounding them all up into one place for easy reference.

(above) Madewell 10" Skinny (shop them here)
Why I love them: These are a classic everyday jean that are super flattering and comfortable.
Sizing: I am between a 26/27 in Madewell jeans and always go with the 27 for comfort with skinny jeans. Also note, I cut them hem on these myself.

(above) Madewell Demi Boot Cut (shop them here: blue or white)
Why I love them: The small flare and slightly cropped cut make these super fun to wear spring, summer and fall (they don't work well in snow). I own them in blue and white and find you can dress them up or down easily.
Sizing: I'm usually between 26/27 in denim and both of my Demi Crops are a 26. They run just a touch big.

(above) Levi's 724 (shop them here)
Why I love them: These are a fun cropped pair with gentle distressing that are really comfortable. I love the frayed hem with sneakers or flats.
Sizing: I always go up a size in this brand. Keep in mind these are quite cropped (I'm 5'4) so they may not work for you taller gals.

(above)  AGOLDE Toni (shop them here)
Why I love them: These jeans are a fun trendy cut and the denim is super soft and broken in. I love the gentle distressing and straight leg.
Sizing: I always go up a size with this brand, but there is a tiny bit of stretch. I am in a 27.

Why I love them: This pair has been so loved and worn that honestly it probably needs replacing. Black jeans always make me feel incredibly confident and pulled together.
Sizing: I am between a 26/27 in Madewell jeans and always go with the 27.

AGOLDE Riley (shop them here)
Why I love them: This pair is quite trendy and is a classic "mom jeans" with a high waist, straight leg and NO stretch. They are a fun option when I'm feeling like a cool mom. ;)
Sizing: I always go up a size with this brand, there is NO stretch with this pair but they do form to your body after several wear. I am in a size 27.

(above) Madewell Stovepipe (shop them here)
Why I love them: These are like a "mini" mom jean with a more approachable everyday cut. I love the straight leg and forgiving stretch.
Sizing: I'm usually between 26/27 in denim and these are a 26. They run just a touch big.

jeans I love, the series: cropped demi boot cut!

Back in February I did a fun series called "jeans I love, the series" where I laid out all my favorite jeans... the archives are worth a look if you are looking for a new pair of tried and true jeans. I truly highlighted the jeans I REALLY LOVE and that I would without a doubt recommend.  And then you guys... life got CRAZY and I totally forgot to close out the series. I mean is anyone else's mind just mush lately? Hopefully it's not just me! There is ONE last pair I am really excited to share with you and boy do I feel bad it took me this long to get it to you!

Today we are chatting up the cropped demi boot cut jeans! I have these in both blue and white but I am a little partial to the white. As you can see here they are a great spring and summer jean. These photos were all from last spring and summer so you can see I wore them quite a few times. Also it's making me crave sunshine, warm weather and well... leaving the house for photos to be honest! Let's chat the details on these jeans...

(note: I have the same cut from Madewell in blue and from what I can tell they are exactly the same, check out their version here)

What I Love: The cropped ankle on the demi boot crop is PERFECT for spring and summer. I love that these jeans show a little ankle for warm weather. The cut is super flattering with a fitted waist and thigh and a little flare at the ankle. It's a whimsical and fun cut.

Sizing Tip: I am between a 26 and 27 in most jeans. Both the J.Crew version and the Madewell version are both size 26. So they run a little on the big side. Both pairs are perfectly stretchy and comfortable. I'm 5'4 and the length is perfect on me, but since they have a raw hem you could always trim them if you are shorter.

Stretch? Yes! The perfect amount to make them both comfortable and flattering. Perfection!

How I like to style them: With sandals and sneakers are my favorite ways to style them. It's a great way to wear jeans in the warmer months and still have them feel light and summery.  The flare at the ankle is a great way to show off a good shoe! You can also do flats and loafers too.

jeans I love, the series: the Levi's 724!

Today I have another installment of my "jeans I love" series that we've been doing all month long! Denim is such a staple in my wardrobe and I'm always on the hunt for that PERFECT pair. You can see the entire archive of the series HERE - and I highly suggest you peruse all the denim featured if you are looking for a new pair or two. I am pretty picky about my jeans and think it's important to balance cost with quality. I think that a lot of the jeans I've featured in this series do just that and that I have really worked to find the best of the best. I hope you've enjoyed this series so far... I have one more pair to feature today and then maybe one pair after that before I wrap up the series. So stay tuned!

Today I am featuring a pair of Levi's jeans (black or blue) that I stumbled upon from another influencer and just LOVE... they are the called the Levi's 724 at some retailers and the Levi's High Rise Straight Crop at other retailers. Confusing, but I have confirmed these are both the same jeans. I love this pair because it's a really comfortable and stretchy straight leg jean. And since it's nice and cropped it's perfect for my height at 5'4. I love a cropped jean because I think showing some ankle makes me (maybe!?!) look a little taller. I have them in both black and blue! I loved the black so much I hunted them down in blue. Let's look at the details of these jeans...

High Rise Straight Crop or 724 by Levi's (in black or blue)

What I Love: First off I love a pair of cropped jeans (in black or blue)... so this is just my style! This pair is super flattering and comfortable while being trendy and fun too. It's really the best of both worlds. Black jeans are so flattering and brainless to me and this pair always makes me feel hip and confident when I wear them. And blue jeans keep it casual and cool. Plus, I'm always a sucker for some distressing - keep in mind that the distressing on the blue version is a little more than the distressing on the black.

Sizing Tip: I always size up in Levi's jeans. I am usually between a size 26 and 27 and took a 27 in these jeans (in black or blue). Keep in mind these jeans are quite cropped. I am 5'4 for reference. For taller gals, these jeans might not work.

Stretch? Yes! And it's delightful. I feel like these jeans (in black or blue) are so flattering and suck me in at the waist just right while still having stretch to make them comfortable.

How I like to style them: Since they are cropped they work great with flats to show a little ankle. I also like them with sneakers for a casual look too. I have worn them with sweaters and sweatshirts or cardigans and seriously think they are so easy to dress up or down. These jeans (in black or blue) instantly make an outfit feel effortless and cool.

jeans I love, the series: the AGOLDE Toni!

We are continuing along with the "jeans I love" series here on the blog today... so far we have covered three of my favorite cuts from Madewell (the Stovepipe, button front black jeans and the classic high rise skinny) and a pair of trendier AGOLDE jeans. Be sure to check out the archives of this series if you are looking for that new *perfect* pair of jeans to add to your closet. I am pretty picky about jeans and as a busy mom I don't have time for pairs that don't fit great or look great. These are my tried and trues that I LOVE and that I think you will love too.   Today I am reviewing another pair of AGOLDE jeans that I love. This pair is a little on the trendy side, but still quite classic at the same time. Because AGOLDE jeans trend a little towards trendier cuts I always feel infinitely cooler than I really am when I wear this pair. They are the perfect mix of trendy and very wearable for everyday.

Toni High Rise Slim-Straight by AGOLDE (shop them here or here)

What I Love: This pair of jeans (shop them here or here) are incredibly comfortable. The denim is ultra soft and easy to wear with the smallest amount of stretch that is *just right* in my opinion. And on top of the super soft denim is quite possibly the most perfect subtle distressing! With just a little distressing at the pockets and ankles it's a fun take on distressing while not being obvious or expected.

Sizing Tip: This brand runs a little small for me and since there isn't a lot of stretch in this pair (shop them here or here), I went up a size. For length reference I am 5'4. Even though the description calls this pair of jeans "high rise" I would say it's more of a midrise.

Stretch? Just the smallest amount that makes this pair (shop them here or here) both very comfortable and flattering too.

How I like to wear them: I think this pair (shop them here or here) can easily be dressed down with an oversized sweater and sneakers.  If you are looking to dress them up they work great with a sweater blazer and loafers too. Really you can wear them however you like! I can't wait to wear them with tees and sandals this spring too!

Jeans (shop them here or here)
Sweater (I am in my usual size small)

jeans I love, the series: the AGOLDE Riley!

The "jeans I love" series continues today... so far we have covered a couple of Madewell brand jeans (the Stovepipe, black skinnies and classic skinnies) which are a definite favorite! Today we are switching gears and covering a different brand - AGOLDE.  AGOLDE is a new-to-me denim brand and has lots of fun and trendy cuts. For me this brand isn't an everyday denim brand like Madewell, these cuts are cute and fun but definitely on the trendy side so I feel like I need to be "in the mood" for them. You know? That being said, when I am in the mood for them I really enjoy wearing them.  I have two pairs of AGOLDE jeans (and one pair of shorts) and today I am excited to share the Riley cut with you!  Let's take a look at these jeans...

Riley Jeans with Distressed Knee by AGOLDE (shop them as shown here or without holes in the knees here or in a darker rinse here)

What I Love: This is a CLASSIC mom jean. High waisted, straight through the hip and leg, very flattering on the bottom and a button fly.  These jeans have serious 80's and 90's vibes and can really make any look feel very trendy and hip. I definitely feel "hip" in these jeans... haha, for what it's worth!

Sizing Tip: I recommend going up a size in this brand. I am usually between a 26 and 27 and I am wearing a size 27 here. These jeans are 100% cotton with NO stretch and while they do mold to your body the more you wear them, they are a stiff fit. I have found that they have softened up quite a bit as I've worn them. Not stretched, but softened, if that makes sense.

Stretch? None. Nada. If you like stretchy jeans and would love a trendier mom-jean style then I would recommend the pair in THIS post instead. Today's pair has none. And if you are like me, or probably most women, some days that is NOT the feeling I want at all. Other days, it's fine.

How I Like to Wear Them: Since these are a lighter wash I usually wear these jeans more in the spring, summer and early fall - as you can probably tell from these photos. They are cute with sweaters, blouses and short sleeve or tank tops. As for shoes I love them with mules and sandals, while I have worn them with sneakers before it feels a little *too* tomboy for me sometimes.

jeans I love, the series: the skinny Madewell!

Today my series on the jeans I LOVE continues with the most classic and simple pair I own! I'm excited to share these jeans which you have likely seen here on the blog before, but that merit a deep dive! Jeans are a huge part of my mom-on-the-go wardrobe and while I love wearing them they can be difficult to shop for and really tricky to find those elusive "perfect" pairs. With this series I hope to make shopping for the PERFECT pair of jeans a little easier for you. So far we have covered my ideal straight leg pair here and my most worn black pair here. You can check out these entire series here and I will be adding more styles soon! Today we are talking about the most comfortable and no frills pair I own.... let's get to it!

10" High Rise Skinny by Madewell (shop them here or here)

What I Love: So by now you probably have figured out that I really enjoy Madewell jeans. They are a great price point, always flattering and the classic styles are perfect for my taste.  This pair is by far my most worn and my most comfortable. With the perfect amount of stretch and the perfect high rise at 10" this is a super flattering pair too. They also boast Madewell's "magic pockets" that are designed to suck you in at all the right places. I love the simple blue wash too - it all amounts to an ultra classic, wear any where jean. You can easily dress these up for the office or down with sneakers for the weekend.

Sizing Tips: I am usually between a 26 and a 27 in Madewell jeans. For this pair I am in the 27. As a general rule with Madewell jeans I go for the bigger size. They do stretch a touch but I don't love overly tight skinny jeans. These jeans were a touch long on me, so I cut the hem myself. So keep in mind that these come with a classic hem, I made mine into a raw hem with scissors. I am 5'4 for reference and prefer my jeans to hit right above the ankle bone.

Stretch: The best stretch ever! These jeans have the most stretch out of all of my jeans and while with some brands stretch means that they start stretching and never stop and end up stretched out, this pair perfectly keeps it's stretch for multiple wears.  They are extremely comfortable in my opinion.

How I like to wear them: You can see below that you can dress these jeans up with loafers, ankle boot, flats or go casual with sneakers. I love pairing them with oversized sweaters, but they work well with fitted sweaters for a more sleek look. The options are endless here!

jeans I love, the series: black button fly skinnies!

This month I'm going to be reviewing some of my favorite denim here on the blog! Jeans are SUCH a staple in my everyday wear - it's pretty much all I wear, minus leggings - and while I love them so much, I think we can all agree... finding that perfect pair can be difficult. That's why this month I'm highlighting the pairs I love, the pairs that I can't live without and the pairs that are my tried and true. I first highlighted the Madewell Stovepipe Jean here - and sticking with other Madewell denim I love today we are chatting these black button front skinny jeans also by Madewell (shop them here or here).  These are my "ahhhhhh..." jeans... the ones I can always slip on and feel like a million bucks in. I'm pretty sure they have formed to my body at this point since I wear them SO much. If you don't own a pair of black jeans or you are looking to add a new pair to your wardrobe, I can't recommend these enough. You can find tall or petite sizes here too.

Black Skinny Button Front by Madewell

What I Love: These black jeans (shop them here or here) are my number one go-to when I don't know what to wear but still want to look great. I find them to be incredibly flattering and always make me feel super pulled together. Plus, as a mom on the go you never have to worry about stains, ya know? This pair is high waisted and stretchy and pulls you in at all the right places. The button fly and distressed hem are both fun extra details that also make them unique.

Sizing tip: I am usually between a size 26 and 27 in jeans at Madewell. This pair (shop them here or here) is a 26. I would say to go down a size if you are between sizes. I got the regular length and I am 5'4 for reference.

Stretch? Yep! This pair (shop them here or here) has the perfect amount. Not too much and not too little. Which makes them incredibly comfortable AND flattering.

How I like to wear them: I usually end up going a little more "dressy" with my outfits when black jeans are involved. As you can see from these photos I pulled from the archives that I am usually in flats or loafers when I wear these black jeans (shop them here or here)... but sneakers work too! So don't be afraid to dress them down a bit!

jeans I love, the series: the Stovepipe Jean!

For February I am going to review a few pairs of jeans that I LOVE here on the blog! Jeans are a staple in my mom-wardrobe and I have a few pairs that I've found recently and really love and also some tried and true that I've owned for a while and still really enjoy wearing. This month I'll choose the best of the best and dedicate a post to them with details like sizing tips, how to style them and even look through the archives for how I have worn them in the past.

Today I am highlighting the Stovepipe Jean by Madewell. This is a new-ish fit to Madewell and a new fit to me also! Let's talk details here...

Stovepipe Jean by Madewell Review

What I love: This is a "lite" mom jean... if you wanted to try the mom jean or straight leg jean trend but don't know where to dip your toes or don't want to go full out 90's style with your jeans this is a great option. It has a high waist, is fitted through the thigh and then has the perfect not-too-wide straight leg. Then it hits right at the ankle with a slightly cropped fit.

Sizing tips: I am usually a 26 or 27 at Madewell and this is size 26. So I would say go down a size on this pair if you are between sizes like me. This jean is available in both a petite and tall length too. I am in the regular length and 5'4 for reference. I also love that you can see this jean modeled in size 25, 29 or 32 on the website - loving that Madewell does this! It's super helpful to see some size inclusivity here.

Stretch? Yes ma'am! I LOVE some stretch in my jeans and this pair has the perfect amount to keep the jeans comfortable while still sucking you in at all the right places.

How I like to wear them: I love that the straight leg can be dressed up or dressed down. Here I wore the jeans with a button front cardigan and leopard loafers which would be perfect for everyday wear or a casual office environment. And I styled them with a simple sweater and sneakers look - which is one of my favorite mom-on-the-go looks too.  The point is these jeans are ultra flattering and versatile and right on trend without being too trendy.
