my everyday style: beautiful winter classics with Nordstrom!

With holiday party season in full swing I am realizing the importance of having some elevated winter pieces on hand. Those pieces that toe the line of basic yet indulgent and really take an outfit to the next level are necessary to have on hand.  A cashmere sweater, a coat with faux fur detailing, leather-look jeans or velvet shoes are the perfect example.  You can easily integrate these pieces into your everyday wear... but when you put them all together a little magic happens.  I love this outfit because it's something at first glance I would wear everyday, but upon closer inspection it's got a little glitz and glam that is perfect for my casual, yet festive, holiday party needs this year.  Sure, plaid and sequins are overtly festive, but sometimes the event or your day calls for something more understated.  I'm thinking Christmas dinner, New Year's Brunch, or more specifically my own Christmas gathering with my bookclub ladies which is usually a low-key evening in a friends home.

I always know that when I need a piece that is beautiful and timeless, but still has the festive edge, the place to go is Nordstrom. Beautiful sweaters or blouses, classic outerwear and stunning shoes are just a start when it comes to stocking your closet with winter wardrobe pieces.  The perfect clutch purse and jewelry is the icing on the cake!
