my everyday style: last call for summer!

Can you feel that in the air… the end of summer? This is the time of year I start doing a snatch and grab on all my favorite summer pieces and wear them as much as possible.  I can feel summer slipping away and I hate to see it go without a fight.  You know?

I hardly wore my white jeans all summer - such a shame - so I decided it was time to remedy that stat.  This black tank from Madewell has seriously been my summer mvp, I haven't worn it here on the blog much but my husband and girlfriends are probably sick of this top as it's been my going out to eat/girls night out/wear it on vacation/if I see you at the store/it's my birthday/date night tank top - all summer.

Not only is it light as a breeze, but I'm also a little obsessed with tuxedo-inspired tops, which by the way seem to be in style this fall as well! (hello, I'll take this one and this one!)  What items are you trying to wear as much as possible before summer is over?

my everyday style: summer whites!

This blog is always evolving and part of me still doesn't know what I want to do when I grow up.  Will I be blogging forever? Is this a viable career going forward? What the hell is a blog anymore even? There are always questions about the future of blogging and where I will be in five years swirling around in my head. But one thing that I always (read: usually, I still suffer with moments of self-doubt) know is that where I am now is exactly where I am supposed to be.  Even though the "now" is always changing.

Wardrobe consults and wardrobe styling clients have been a common thread throughout most of my blogging career.  What started out as one random reader asking for help with her work wardrobe over 5 years ago (5 years!!! 5 years???) has been an amazing experience for me and hopefully readers and clients too.  Even when I decided to take time off from taking new clients there were still emails of the loyal ones wanting services.  It's always felt right to offer these services because you readers always wanted them.

Recently I was introduced to Keaton Row that brings together wardrobe stylists (like me) with people that want a little help in the wardrobe department (maybe like you).  I can offer these services FREE to you through Keaton Row and even mentor other ladies that want to start their own wardrobe styling services.  The way Keaton Row works is a little different than how I have done consults in the past so some of my clients may not like it - although it's hard not to love!  But the fact that it is free will be a huge opportunity to work with a lot more of you on a regular basis and maybe even help those of you that were hesitant to pay for my services.  So I'm going to give Keaton Row a try AND keep my regular consult program going too.  If this is a service you are interested in you can decide which way works best for you.  I am truly excited to work with MORE ladies this way and to have an opportunity to work with you on a more regular basis as well.  I think it's really a win-win for my readers and clients.  I highly suggest you head over there and check it out!  If you have any questions, always feel free to email or leave a comment!

None of this has anything to do with this outfit… summer whites for the win! That's all I'm saying about this look!

my everyday style: peplum!

Are you a fan of peplum? I finally took the plunge and bought a peplum top recently and I have to say that I really love this style… I've worn this top a ton of times and I love the silhouette. It's the best of both worlds with it's half fitted and half flowy feel.

With a pair of white jeans this look was perfect for a recent girls night out.  On another note… today is my birthday! Follow my celebrations on Instagram (user: JillGG) as I'll likely be celebrating a little throughout the day!

my everyday style: red stripes!

This is another patriotic look that I had hoped to have on the blog before the 4th but I ran out of time!  But let's be honest… doesn't all of July feel a little patriotic? I think so.  In fact I think you can justify red, white and blue for pretty much the whole summer.

I hope you gals had a great long holiday weekend… I know it's Tuesday already, but I am still in mourning that the holiday weekend is over.  I mean, we don't get to celebrate the Fourth for another year? That seems so sad to me.  That is reason right there to keep sporting the red, white and blue…

my everyday style: coral crush!

I've got a serious crush on coral for summer.  It all started with this tote I found at the Kate Spade Outlet (in the clearance section even!).  Then I remembered this coral necklace that I got as a gift for Christmas … and since then it's all coral all the time.  I seek it out where ever I am, it always seems to catch my eye and if I find coral nail polish, well, it's a done deal.

Do you fall for colors like that too?
