MONEY SAVING TIP: Invest in a new classic jacket this year AND depend on the classic purchases from years past.  Try swapping pieces with a sister or friend or even scouring the second-hand and consignment shops that are full of classics for this season and into the future!

MONEY SAVING TIP:  I am just smitten for pointed flats this season... I just LOVE them!  But unfortunately I have found that not a lot of the affordable brands are carrying them this season (sad face!) but I've got my eye out for them!  Whenever I find them... you'll be the first to know!  In the meantime, watch for sales at the department stores to get pointed flats for less.

MONEY SAVING TIP: Luckily for a new trend... the peplum top can be found at several retailers (even the less expensive stores) and in general aren't that expensive from most retailers.  So it's easy to get the peplum top trend for less... in fact all the tops shown here are UNDER $50 (except for one!).  Score!

MONEY SAVING TIP: printed jeans are hot, hot, hot for fall 2012.  If you are looking to save (not splurge) on these beauties... check the discount retailer that you love best for inexpensive pieces (Target and Forever 21 have great options!).  If you are crafty you can DIY your printed jeans... MONEY SAVING TIP: Stripes from past seasons work just as well for fall!  Layer striped short sleeves or tank top under blazers, cardigans and jackets as the weather cools to get more use out of them.

MONEY SAVING TIP: Thrift stores and second hand stores are always a great inexpensive option for purchasing 'new to you' fall sweaters... head straight for the boldest colors you can find!  Or if you aren't into second hand stores, meet up with a friend that wears the same size as you and swap a fall sweater or two from previous seasons.  I always find that I tire of a sweater after a year or two... even if it still has some life in it. Maybe your friends are the same!

MONEY SAVING TIP:  Loafers are so popular for fall this year that many brands and stores are offering their version of this style!  In fact, most of the styles featured here are under $30 - such a steal!  So feel free to invest in a great pair of loafers... or save on loafers - it's completely up to you!

MONEY SAVING TIP: Curious to try the colored jean trend for fall, but not sure if you will love it? Then go for an inexpensive pair of colored jeans from Old Navy, Forever 21 or Target.  If you like them and want additional pairs... invest in more!

MONEY SAVING TIP: Blazers are going to be big for fall... but you may already have a blazer (or two? or more?) that you love from a previous seasons.  If so, recycle them by sending them to the dry cleaners for a freshener and then pairing them with the new trends of the season... what trends might those be?
