Thanksgiving season is upon us and it's one of my favorite family celebrations of the year. Watching the parade and football while hanging in the kitchen all day ending with a big huge meal with family is one of my favorite traditions. I love a good turkey and the sides never disappoint (especially as leftovers) but my favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner is always the desserts! I'm not a super experienced baker so I love some easy hacks to bring a crowd pleasing dessert to the table. Today I'm sharing my favorite recipe, though it's hardly a recipe it's so easy to make, for dessert. Last year I made this our big family Christmas celebration and everyone raved about them so I'm bringing them back again this year. These puff pastry pocket pies are super easy and quick to make and everyone loves them.

Read on below to see the quick and easy recipe for my puff pastry pocket pies!

I made my pocket pies with cranberry sauce and brie filling. A little sweet and a little savory... and they were SO good. I've also used canned cherry pie filling or chocolate chips and those are great options too! Use your imagination or just go with the basics, either way these are so fun and easy!

1. I started with making a homemade cranberry sauce in my Always Pan. I used the very simple directions on the cranberry bag, but I always add a little extra orange peel and juice.

2. I cut the store-bought puff pastry, I used one full box, into three long rectangles and fill one side with the fillings, here I put a few slices of brie and a generous spoonful of cranberry sauce in.

3. Then I simply folded over the puff pastry to enclose the fillings and crimp the edges with a fork.

4. Next, transfer the pocket pies to the Our Place Oven Pan and use the included Oven Mat for a perfect non-stick baking surface. Cut small vent holes in the top of the pocket pastry, brush with an egg wash and sprinkle with a little bit of sugar for a golden brown finish.

5. Bake at 375 for 25-28 minutes or until golden. You can serve immediately or make ahead and serve later the same day.

Then I used the gorgeous Our Place walnut cutting board to plate up the puff pastry pocket pies with some fun other sweets to make sure everyone found something sweet they love. I used mini donuts, rice cereal and marshmallow bars, pumpkin pie bites, candies and some popcorn.
