I thought it would be fun to chat about another Christmas tradition that I love to keep each year. Yesterday I talked about why they are so special to me... you can read about that here. Another Christmas tradition that is a favorite is the 'day date' with my husband. Usually this time of year he has way too much left over vacation to really use, so he can take a day off on a random week day. He and I get to hang together while the kids are at school - which is so rare and also really super fun. Usually there is some "chores" involved like a few items from the 'honey-do' list or some Christmas present wrapping. But there is also some fun involved... wrapping up Christmas shopping together, grabbing a boozy lunch and generally just taking in the holiday spirit together without kids makes for a pretty fun and memorable day.
It's fun to dress up a little to spend the day together... but this look would be just as perfect for Christmas with your family, a casual holiday party or a night out with the girls. I love the monochromatic feel to this look. Jeans and a blazer look extra special while still being comfortable yet festive. A little lace always adds that extra layer of festive fun. We recently were out together and walked by a Christmas tree lot. The smell was absolutely intoxicating! I just love the scent of fresh pine - so we had to stop in and take in all the smells and ohhh and ahhh over the trees. It really put us in the holiday spirit!
