My video debut!

I could scream from the mountains I am so excited to present the first EVER good life for less video segment! Today we tackle scarves... how to wear them and how to accessorize with them! Aaaannnd, if you like the items I feature in the video... check out the links below for similar items!

Check it out and PLEASE PLEASE give feedback! I'd love to hear how you like it or ways to improve! (the first frame or two is blurry... which I am working on fixing! But after that it's fine! I'm also working on getting it to YouTube which is more difficult than I anticipated.)

love the video! i'm definitely going to have to try the handkerchief style soon. and i would love to learn more about how to wear belts. especially as they seem like they're just for "skinny" people. is that really true?

oh and this is another great way to wear the american apparel scarf-

What a great idea! Love the video, and love the how-to.... Simply fabulous!

I LOVE the video! And I so need a scarf tutorial (especially for the small, vintage ones), and you did such awesome job.

My only feedback would be that I most likely normally wouldn't have been able to watch the whole 7 minutes, but today my kids were so cooperatively sleeping late that I was able to watch from start to finish. Maybe a few segments of different tips?? I don't know though, bc I loved how thorough your tutorial was.

Oh, and you are adorable!

I loved it! I have to agree with everyone else you are adorable! I love the way your personality shines through in the video.

Great tips and can't wait to see more!

Fun! Great tips-I never thought about the length of the scarf and where it hits you when you put it on-but now I will! Can't wait for the segment on belts because I love the look of them, but never wear them due to the fact I still have leftover pregnancy belly bulge (although at this point I'm not sure I can still blame it on pregnancy!)

My only tip would be to possibly make it a bit shorter, like Erin said-you don't always get a full seven min to do anything with the kiddos pulling on your legs! But I do love that you were thorough.

That was great, Jill. First of all, you are the absolute cutest girl there is. :)
Second -- this was JUST what I needed! And a video was way better than a post about how to wear scarves.
Third -- I love your comment about the belt how for those of us who have had kids, it 'sucks things in a little' and disregards the bottom half 'because we might have a little trouble down there' :) Laughing out loud.
I would also suggest maybe breaking the video into 2 minute segments for people who don't have the time to sit in one place for that long.
Great work! More videos, please!!

So great, thanks. I agree with all the comments, especially the reasoning behind not wearing belts. I have yet to buy one because every time I try one at the store, I feel like it draws a lot of attention to my tummy (problem area for sure) But, I do think with some of your advice, I could find one that works for me.

super great tips - i loved them! i now need to go scarf shopping!

can't wait to learn more about belts - i would love to learn how to incorporate them into my wardrobe.

i had a little trouble hearing you even with my volume all the way up.

Jill, you are so adorable!
What great lessons! I am now lusting over a crisp lightweight summer scarf (if only it wasn't 105 today!) Keep it up, I can't wait to see more!

Oh, I meant to add that I love the scarf suggestions you added to the end of the post.

Well done!! Great ideas and tips. Thanks for doing this, I've always felt like a dork trying scarves on and never had the confidence to wear them out. Now I may try. :) Love the blog and always find major inspiration here. Keep those posts and videos coming!

great job! as an avid scarf wearer i appreciate the smart tips.

my thoughts...perhaps a bit shorter video length. i don't have kids but i do work and i have sad attentions pan.
also, perhaps some more "out of the box" options. i tie vintage scarves around bags for pops of color. i knot summer scarves up for a more artistic look. i like to drape the wider scarves over my shoulders when i'm sitting in the cold office (i'm wearing one right now in fact!)
i do like your ideas and all of your scarves are drool worthy. can't wait to see the next installment.

omg, you are too cute! GREAT video! I like that you covered different types of scarves, including lengths and fabrics. I think these are all super basic tips that will take me a long way.

I can't wait for more! One that I would love to see is how to properly match jacket length/style with pants. I have tons of short sleeve blazer/jackets and am not sure how to wear them.

Love it! I really could use some help with scarves so it was perfect for me! I do agree with the other comments about it being slightly shorter so maybe you could do multiple segments over the course of a week? I don't know.... I did love that you covered several different topics with scarves...

I do love that you'll be including videos!

Very fun tutorial...especially for those of us who are scared to wear the scarf. I will be brave and try it out tomorrow : ) I like the suggestions of shorter and spread out through the week. Gives us something to look forward to all week long.

I have been wanting to learn how to pull off the scarf look for a long time so I really appreciate you showing me how! Thanks!

SO great to 'meet' you on video!! I love the segment, I think it's so useful. I would love to do a jewelry segment over on Makeunder sometime soon and send it to you as well - we could swap segments...

As for the scarves, love how you chose to wear them. I have a super long scarf that I never thought to wear twice wrapped around my neck - thanks!

As for the handkerchief style, I've been doing that with my Grandma's scarves for the last two years and it so easy when you want to get a new look (aka: go shopping) but don't have money. In fact, I wore my brown and orange scarf that way yesterday.

Congrats on your first video!

You are darling ! Love your personality and your closet and your style !

This is just the courtroom attorney in me, but I would say that you need to talk a bit slower and say less "ums". I have that habit too !! You are too cute, so talk a bit slower and let us enjoy your voice. And try to keep the videos to 5 minutes.

Otherwise, can't wait to see more of your lovely personality shine through. Great job girl!
