H&M try on session!

Today I have a try on session from H&M and I am really excited about it! I haven't shopped H&M in so long and I'm not quite sure why... but I recently saw an Instagram ad pop up for H&M and went down a rabbit trail and found some amazing pieces! And while H&M has long been known as "fast fashion" they have recently started to take steps to be more sustainable including using more sustainable fabrics, using water and electricity in their supply chain more responsibly, publishing a supplier map for transparency and working to make sure that human rights are top of mind with suppliers too. It's promising and it definitely makes me more likely to shop with them in the future. I'm not an expert on sustainability within the fashion industry by any means, but I'm trying to be better about researching these issues. It won't be perfect but it's a start!

I initially fell in love with a dress (you'll see it below) and then was drawn in by their sweaters and some outerwear. All in all I was really impressed with the quality and styles of these pieces and I can't wait to show them to you.  Plus the prices are really budget friendly.

As with all of my try on sessions, I never keep everything. I treat them like I would a fitting room in a store. Find some pieces, try them, see if I like them and return what doesn't work. I would love to keep everything but I just don't have the space to or the desire to have an overabundance of clothing. At the end of the post I will outline what I keep and what goes back.

I've been wanting an olive green sweater this fall. It's such a beautiful and versatile color for the colder months.  This one is super soft and cozy and it's available in lots of colors. It's super versatile and looks great with black jeans or blue jeans. This sweater runs true to size, I am in my usual size small.  (shop the pieces: sweater, black jeans, blue jeans, ankle boots, similar sneakers or similar less expensive sneakers)

I just love the oversized fit of this sweater and the turtleneck hits just right. Plus this taupe/oatmeal color is a favorite of mine. This piece is gorgeous with both blue or black jeans and can be dressed up or dressed down so easily. This piece runs true to size, I am in my usual size small. (shop the pieces: sweater, similar blue jeans, black jeans, hiking boots, flats)

If you love a fleece jacket and don't like the pullover style or if you just want something a little more dressed up this jacket is IT! I'm obsessed!  It's super soft and is fully lined to make it very warm. It's a little oversized, I am wearing an XS here, but I love that there is room to layer underneath. It's also available in taupe. I also snagged this stunning cashmere scarf (on right) and love it. It's beautiful in person and a great price for cashmere. (shop the pieces: jacket, cashmere scarf, sweater, jeans, wedge boots)

Okay so THIS is the dress I originally saw in an ad... maybe you saw it too!?!? It immediately sucked me in because I love a dress with sleeves and both the pearl neck and the sequin sleeves are GORGEOUS. I love that this dress is super swingy and not fitted. You could easily wear tights with it as well for holiday parties. It's such a great price and so fun and unique. It's going to be a great piece for the holidays. I went with a size 2 and it fits like a small.  (shop the pieces: pearl neck dress, sequin sleeve dress, similar bow heels, black heels, leopard clutch)

My final thoughts...
Olive Green Turtleneck Sweater, I really love this one but I think it's going to go back, simply because I just can't keep every sweater I find - even though I wish I could! ;)
Taupe Balloon Sleeve Sweater, this one is a KEEPER. I really love it and I already can't wait to wear it!
Fleece Jacket with High Collar, this is another KEEPER. It can be difficult to find great coats at great prices so when I do I love to add them to my closet. Coat season is long here in Michigan so I need all the coats I can get!
- Cashmere Scarf, this piece is too good to resist. And such a good price too! I'm keeping.
Pearl Neck Dress or Sequin Sleeve Dress? I'm going to go with the pearl option. It will be great to have on hand for holiday events and it's such a great price too!
- I also ordered this dress (not shown) and it's beautiful but it fit me a little weird. I ordered a size small. It's definitely getting returned.

There are so many more items on my wishlist... this sweater looks very much like Free People sweater without the hefty price tag. This sequin top is classic and beautiful for the holidays and the price is great (usually sequins are so expensive!). This lace dress is a little daring but oh emm gee so beautiful! This is a sweater I could live in with leggings all winter.
