my everyday style: cozy layers!

There is NOTHING better than a cool and gloomy fall weekend where you can bundle up in some cozy layers for a super relaxing day.  My ideal day is laying around reading and watching tv all day and then heading out to get dinner as a family.  That's what this outfit is perfect for.  It's a pass-the-chips, more HGTV-please, sure-I'll-have-a-glass-of-wine-at-2pm, getting-lost-in-a-book, inch-a-little-closer-to-the-fireplace outfit.  Then if you insist, we can walk to dinner because we are too lazy to make it ourselves.  That is basically what I wish every fall weekend could be like.  And since our weekends here at home are usually much more hectic than that, we headed up to Northern Michigan for a weekend recently to do just that.  A whole lot of nothing.

It's so relaxing and laid back in Northern Michigan, plus, this time of year with the leaves changing and the tourists (mostly) cleared out after the summer it's the perfect place to majorly chill out and enjoy nature as a couple or family.  Our days in Glen Arbor included walks to the beach, laying around on the sofa by the fireplace and then walks to dinner.  Every family (or couple, my husband and I want to go it alone next time!) deserves downtime like that.

I love pairing oversized sweaters and distressed jeans together for a laid back look.  Add a cozy scarf and these crazy-comfortable ankle boots and it was the perfect outfit for lounging and exploring as a family.
