my everyday style: warm up with Nordstrom!

The holiday season is here and it has unfortunately brought it's cold weather with it. At least to those of us here in the midwest... it was GORGEOUS in Florida last week (oh, vacation!). Which makes facing these cold temps even more daunting! Even though I have lived in the midwest my whole life, each winter I still manage to be surprised by the cold. You would think I would be mentally prepared for it by now! Even if I can never be fully mentally prepared for the cold weather each year I at least can have my wardrobe prepped.

Coats, boots, and hats are daily mainstays for my outfits. And for good reason! They are the foundations to keeping warm every day so I depend on them greatly. The trick each winter is to stay warm AND stay stylish at the same time. I love a good practical coat or boot - but they have to be good looking too. That is why my first stop for boots, coats, hats and everything else to keep me warm is always Nordstrom. I know they stock the goods that are both pretty and practical.

I love this gorgeous grey coat, but this one is another favorite of mine. There are tons of other outerwear brands that Nordstrom carries too, of course... this wrap coat is gorgeous and I love this faux fur trim puffer coat too (and the price is right!). Boots are a no brainer this time of year to keep my feet and legs warm - it was love at first sight for these over the knee boots (or this pair is on sale!) - but the great news is that they are also super warm and waterproof. So they not only look good, but they are incredibly practical as well. Then of course I love to fill in with hats, scarves and mittens or gloves as needed. Last year my husband got me these rabbit lined mittens for Christmas and I am seriously SO in love with them. I've never had a warmer pair of mittens in my life!
