Ironies of ironies I was up half the night with a sick kid last night and today feel a) like I was up half the night with a sick kid and b) like I am getting sick now too. My head wants to explode, I can't stop sneezing and my eyes are super itchy. I think it's half sick and half allergies. Which is all 'no fun.'
But a Mother's job is never over!
This morning I woke up to a steaming hot latte and pastry on my side table. You really can't beat that. And then this afternoon we had a picnic in our backyard that was organized fully by my husband. It was super delicious and we all had fun together...
So while the day has been challenging and tiring on some levels - on other levels it has been pure joy. Isn't that the exact definition of motherhood? I sure would say so.
I also set out my most favorite red pants for the day... my outfit can always be depended on to brighten my day!
Now on to the giveaway... shall we!?!? The editor of TORN: True Stories of Kids, Career and the Conflict of Modern Motherhood sent over two copies for me to giveaway! The book, as many of you all know already, contains my own short story about how I quit my job as a working mom and settled in among the stay-at-home moms. So you will want to check out that for sure! In addition there are SO SO many amazing stories from moms and women of all walks of life - sure to inspire you as a mom.
I have two copies and I would be thrilled to sign them as well (ha, that seems so cheesy! but in a good way!) all you have to do is this:
- "Follow" this blog... click to follow if you don't already in the sidebar!
- Leave a comment about one thing you do as a mother that you never thought you would (just to humor me!)
- For an extra entry tweet about this giveaway (leave an additional comment).
- For yet another extra entry blog about this giveaway (leave an additional comment).
- I will leave comments open through Friday, May 13!!!
Good luck and of course, Happy Mother's Day!
