my outfit: black and blue!

Right off the bat, Jackie's post on 100 Inspirations inspired the color palate for this outfit... I always forget how much I like blue with black. I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but the scarf has a lot of navy in it as well (and my top is navy). It's usually a scarf I wear in the summer, but with this dark color palate I knew I needed something bold and bright!

This is about the most I've been "dressed" in a while, it's just SO cold. I just wear tons of sweaters and Uggs from morning until night (even in the house). But I didn't have any where to be on this morning so I had fun "dressing up" and feeling like a person again - instead of a snow man! I'm *trying* to get into an every-other-day-hair-wash schedule. Everyone that talks about it loves it... and my hair is tricky (especially the bangs) on the second day. But the dry air that winter provides helps. Thus the "do" today!

Any excuse I get lately I seem to go running for this jacket... I love it so! And yes, those nails are green. Definitely a more "jingle bell rock" for the holidays than "the first noel"... I may switch up to slightly more reverent for the holidays. If that exists for nail polish. Maybe I'm over thinking it.

In my house the cookies are baked, the presents bought (although I need to wrap!) and the gingerbread house is made... now I am twiddling my thumbs for the rest of the week. Right!?!? (If you've got kiddos at home like me, head over to good tots today for fun, easy and cheap ideas for keeping them busy this week!)

Are you ready for Christmas!?!?

J'adore! Love the navy and black, the scarf, the patchwork boyfriend jeans. Soooo cute. I ALSO love not washing my hurr everyday. Girlfriend - I go at LEAST two days wivout washing, sometimes three, and depending on how it is styled, sometimes I can get away with four (not often, but sometimes). Then there is my Iranian friend who has TONS of gorgeous curly curly hair, and she washes once a week. And her hair ALWAYS looks better than anyone else's. Not right, I tell you.

Ah well - happy Monday, mamacita!

Yeah, I had to train my hair to only get washed every other day. And yesterday, I woke up totally late for church and my hair didn't look that bad (on day three!) so I didn't wash it. That is rare, but you should give your hair a little time before you decide if it's for you or not. The first week is the hardest.

Right now I'm sitting here with Day 3 hair......the secret is dry shampoo. I've tried several, but my favorite is Stila's Jade Blossom Hair Refresher. I must have bought the bottle 2 years ago. It smells like heaven and lasts forever. My hair takes an hour to do between washing, blow dry, flat iron....every 2 or 3 days is enough! The trick for bangs is wet them with a very thin comb, quick blow dry, hair powder. Well, I also have you by about 10 years, and hair is much more dry as we age!
