Work it Wednesday!

Work it Wednesday is baaaack! Have you missed it? I have...

Today's featured item is the black obi belt. I have seen these popping up in around the internet and fashion mags. I don't own one, because honestly I haven't seen them in the stores to even try on (if you know of an easily accessible one... LET ME KNOW!)
Fashion Focus at ShopStyle

I really like the look though... they are a bit fashion forward. And a touch "serious" (think Victoria Beckham)... but let's see if we can't seamlessly integrate it into a wardrobe, shall we?

From completing this little exercise it seems as if an obi belt (at least for me personally) is best "dressed down" - that takes away the severity and makes it fun and flirty!

How about you? Would you wear an obi belt?

February Finds... 21!

The Hayden-Harnett spring/summer 2009 line is of course TO.DIE.FOR. I just love it all, especially the following pieces that have (as always) fabulous color choice and unique and inspiring design. Check out the whole line (Hayden-Harnett Handbags) in the meantime, these are a couple of my favorites:

Staci Crossbody, Violet Crinkle Patent, $258
There is nothing better than finding "the" perfect shade of pink.  This magenta hue is sophisticated and chic without being frilly or silly.  And I love the repeating "coin purse" theme. In addition, this cross-shoulder bag proves that the trend is back - like it or not.

Clarice Train Case, Les Grands Pavots Bleu, $278
How can you not think spring when you see this bag?  I love the blue with orange... the varied hues make it surprisingly versatile.

Lolita Ruffle Bag, Moonbeam, $348
Ruffles are here and now.  And really, I couldn't love them more.  Especially as they are executed on this adorable shoulder bag.  Fun, fun!

Fashion Friday... a touch of spring!

In the coming weeks the stores will be flooded with early spring styles... so if you are going to be doing any clothing shopping soon, you'll need to integrate some of these spring looks into your winter wardrobe with out them looking like they are aliens from another planet. Before my husband and I had kids, when we could do whatever we wanted and had two unrestricted incomes... ahhhh, the days... we would take an annual trip to Chicago for Valentine's weekend for romance, relaxation and of course shopping! Except that navigating clothing retailers in February can be tricky. They were ready for spring, but the wind chills aren't.

Here's an outfit idea using the handbag featured earlier this week that will bring a touch of spring into your winter wardrobe!
