my outfit: ladies who lunch!

I'm totally not a "lunching lady"... but when a gal pal from out of town is around... we "meet" for lunch.  Does that count!?!? We met for lunch at my favorite spot, aka pretty much the only spot I eat out at, and sat on the patio for a few hours eating and talking and it was like I just saw her yesterday.  Although we hadn't seen one another in person for almost two years.  (really, eliz? two years!?!? sheesh!)

Elizabeth and I went to college together and even lived for a year together as well.  To say I have fond memories of our friendship and fun during those years is a gross understatement.  But what I love the most is that even though we have a rich and storied past - we love to talk about our futures and ideas and our lives now more than even reminisce about what were some of the greatest years of our lives.  Do you see the difference there? It's like we are such strong and amazing women these days that our futures are even BETTER than what that amazing past was.

It's kind of hard to explain. But what I do know is that she inspires me and makes me want to be a better person.  She chases her dreams and I love that her strengths tend to want to bring mine out as well.  Also, she took my outfit photos for me.  Friend for life there.  Although, she's pretty handy with a camera... so it was old hat for her.

Love you Eliz.  Love you lots.

Plus, she's gorgeous... and an amazing writer, and a working mom, and a mother to three boys, also she married her college sweet heart and they are an amazing couple.  Can I get an amen!?!?

I just love good friends who inspire! And take WIW photos for you. Those are hard to come by. Ha! Sounds like a wonderful time. And believe me, I would love to be a lady who lunches if I could.

oh jill! i know i say this every time, but i LOVE when you wear your hair down! haha. it's that ombre...it just does it for me! haha, maybe i should just take the plunge (like i've been saying all summer) and then i could have this joy everyday, rather than just living vicariously through you!

Thanks Linda! I was excited to update to new comments for our new little "project" - I've had people complain that it is hard to comment with blogger if you don't have a google account. Do you know how to get the comments numbered though?

Ha Ha- I thought I was the only lady in the world that didn't lunch! Your outfit is too cute. Sounds like you & your friend had a good time. It's nice to have friends that you can go forever without seeing but pick right back up where you left off.

Ahh!!! I love you! And love this post. I love your take on us - I hadn't thought about it, but you are so right. Cheers to the future, my dear friend. I just got back from out of town and this made my day. Love you, friend. I'll answer the lipstick question below. :)

Hi Kristen! Lipstick is MAC Prolong (True Red) Pro Longwear. A little pricey, but one application lasts H-O-U-R-S.

thank you elizabeth! it's beautiful on you!

Thank you! And I just realized that in the picture, I had actually run a pinky gloss over it to tint it a bit. I used Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Rhubarb. The MAC is super red and more of a matte finish than in the pic.
