my outfit: summer scarf!

You know you have a winner when you wear a new scarf, in the summer no less, for like four days straight.  Luckily I didn't photograph all four days, that would have been weird. I'm pretty sure there were some sweat pants thrown somewhere in there.  *Awkward, mom*... as my son would say.

I snuck into a small H&M in the 'burbs of Chicago and fell in love with this scarf at first sight.  Too bad it was about the only thing I fell in love with there - since I made the trip and all. Oh well.  July is a super weird time to shop... am I the only one? I don't know whether to buy more summer stuff - after all, we have about two months of heat left. Or just wait for fall.

The next thing we need to discuss is my bangs, people.  As you have probably noticed they don't make appearances much anymore. I'm trying to decide if I should grow them or keep them.

Anyone? Anyone?  They were last seen here... although they are on the long side. They were spotted here as well... a touch more tidy. And here just post a trim.

Are we bang-lovers or bang-so-so-ers?  This is a question that I need answers to...

lucky for you - you look great either way! bangs or no-bangs...whichever fits with your life more. (I have bangs and they drive me crazy at times, BUT they force me to fix my hair everyday!)

Bangs! I went through a phase this year where I had grown them out and was wearing my hair up a lot. I was suddenly inspired to get out the scissors, and I was inspired by your super cute hair color change. I have a picture on my blog of what they look like now! I think you should totally bring back the bangs love. love. love.

You look great either way but I think I like the no bangs look! I used to have the side swept bangs and they drove me nuts, especially during the summer months.

That scarf is great - you'll definitely get use out of it once it starts to get colder outside, too. I got a scarf like that as a gift for my sister awhile ago and I've been kicking myself ever since for not getting myself one, too.

On the great bangs question...I vote for growing out the bangs. Bangs look great on you, but after seeing you without them for awhile I think you look even better without! I'm in the middle of growing mine out, too.

I vote for bangs...but in the fall! Once the weather gets cooler they are way easier to style and maintian.
Love that scarf btw!

I vote BANGS!! Lately it seems like everyone has the same haircut.... long, no bangs, middle part, waves. I just cut my bangs in order to stand out from the farrah crowd. And your bangs were an inspiration for me to cut mine :)

I'm into sideswept bangs (for obvious reasons) but I think you could go bang-less! You have great hair and and I think growing out your bangs could be very flattering to your face. I'm also thinking about Kate Middleton's hair. :o)

Ugh, I'm having the same issues with my bangs. Not that happy with them right now, and not sure what to do with them. I think you look great both ways. {Sorry, no help there}

I love that you guys have input on my bangs! Seriously. I think I am just going to (maybe!?!?) grow them until fall and re-evaluate. How's the for deciding? Or not. :)

well, i did get my bangs cut like yours last summer, so I'm a big fan of the bangs. However, my bangs have been getting on my nerves a lot lately too! Plus, you have a great face for no bangs. So, yeah, I say go for it. It's nice to know you have options! :)
Also, you look really cute! Love the stripes and plaid!

Ooh, I love the summer scarf - I'd wear it a lot too. When you find something awesome, sometimes you just want to wear it all the time!

And bangs are tricky in the summer. I feel like my forehead is hot and my bangs get greasy faster... but maybe when fall comes around you'll want them back again?

First off, loving the scarf! I tend to latch onto one scarf at a time too.

I think I'm having the same issues with my bangs. They've been pulled back a bunch lately because 1. they're growing out and 2. it's so hot and sweaty out! I know I should just get them trimmed between haircuts, but I'm too lazy to do it. So by the time my next haircut rolls around, I'm tempted to just let my bangs grow out for good. But I keep them around since they jazz things up when the rest of my hair is pulled back. Plus, I still have the option of pinning them back.

I agree! I'm putting myself on a shopping hiatus until more fall clothes come out. I love the scarf too!

The bangs look great, but you also look great without them. I always end up wearing mine up in the summer just because it is too hot and cut them again in the fall! :) Whatever makes you feel great. I will say that the ombre color usually seems to look best with bangs, but either way you look gorgeous. :)

I love the way you mixed your prints today!!

I go back and forth with bangs myself, and once I get them I always want to immediately grow them out. Practically, I feel that if you dye your hair, you can do more with the color if you don't have to worry about bangs growing out. That's just my experience : )

I think you are beautiful either way. However, my vote is no bangs. I think you look so classy with your hair pulled up like this.

I like the long side swept bangs. You can still have them when you want them, and not when you don't!

LOVE your Target top - I have it in 4 colors! Target is my fav!! Looks so cute with the scarf

Love the whole outfit, but I agree that July is a wacky time to shop. I usually just replentish the basics if I buy anything, or only buy summer stuff on discount since I know I won't get many more wears out of it.

If this helps, I'm thinking of growing out MY sideswept bangs for a hopeful Kate Middleton look (still working on that physique...)

1. I am coveting, COVETING I SAY, the scarf. Love.

2. My bang solution (same prob) has been to keep them long and pin them back all summer, but I'll trim them back in the fall. If I want (and the humidity won't make them all whacked out), I can still wear them down and swept to the side, but they're long enough to pin back like you do in these pics. I've been rockin this look through the whole heatwave of the last month.

3. I love the two colors of nail polish. Super cute and fun.

4. Miss you. Will email about getting together Fri the 5th of Aug for coffee/shopping?? Will be in town!!! xoxoxo
