my outfit: white with stripes!

I always feel so "sporty" in this top, so I wanted to be sure to add some more feminine elements to it like the scarf tied as a belt and some super high heels.  How's that for un-sporty? Not that there is anything wrong with "sporty", per se. There isn't. I just wouldn't label my style as sporty so I like be sure to put my own spin on it.

Do I over-analyze my clothing choices? Likely.

Do I wear my hair in a bun too much? More than likely.

How would you style this top!?!? Hmmm? Hmmm? Do tell!

Love how you de-sportized that top with that fun scarf for a belt and those killer heels! Such a great summer outfit!

Huh funny - i saw this top at H&M the other day and though against trying it on - simply as it was too sporty for me and like you my styles is not sporty! Think it looks great with the white jeans and strappy shoes though!

I'd pair it over a black maxi dress or with a black maxi skirt, and belt it. But I love the way you've done it!

You really make me want to have some white jeans. Alas, I am preggo and if I get some now, chances are they won't fit in the near future! -Meg O.

This top is great, and I think it's really versatile! I would wear it with jeans and sneakers, or you could try it with a skirt and heels. It's that kind of shirt. I love it with the white jeans though!

@ Jill: I paired it with jeans and sneakers here: http://goodlifeforless.blogspot.com/2011/05/my-outfit-get-sporty.html A skirt and heels would be cute too. Maybe a blazer even?

@SarahNelson: the nail polish is Silken Cord by Essie - there is a link to it in the post (at the end!)

I always like a striped top with a full mini. More french than sporty. Of course short shorts are another super cute option. :) I do love it with the white jeans and high wedges though.

i was going to say your outfit looks more Parisian than sporty but the person before me said the same thing!

you should wear that shirt and the white skinny jeans with flats, a great handbag, sunglasses, and a scarf as a head-covering while riding in a convertible!

I am definitely planning on putting some scarves to use as belts in the very near future! Cute look, whenever I see navy and green I think sporty too...

Hey Jill! I read your blog all the time, but never comment (I don't know why. I'm just not a commenter). Anyway, I have the same top and I love it! I 've worn it a couple of ways. For work, I paired it with some light gray high-waisted slacks, brown belt and gray heels (and some sort of necklace that I can't quite recall because I'm a necklace freak and I can't keep up with all of them). The other time, I wore it with dark skinnies, yellow sandals and tied a matching yellow scarf in my hair. The bright yellow really worked well against the green and navy. But yeah, it was kinda sporty that way. Have a great weekend!
