my outfit: a casual start to the New Year!

It's hard not to wax poetic with the turn of a New Year... a blank page. It's easy to look back and highlight the past. (which, btw, I am loving on others' blogs). But I don't feel much like looking back, although I will briefly. I much prefer the magical crystal ball feeling that is looking towards and planning for a New Year.

2009 was a REALLY hard year for me, likely my hardest. (some of you may had that in 2010)

2010 was one of my best, arguably THE best... if you don't count 2011, it's hard to count 2011 yet... but I feel like it will be better. (some of you will have that this year - hopefully many of us!)

For 2010 my mantra was "JUST DO IT" (yes, I was all 'Nike' about it) - my focus in life and with the blog was to try new things, try anything and just get moving on any and all action items I could think of to better my life and this blog. Looking back, it was a great mantra... the "it" list was born, the looks:book was born, the blog over quadrupled in readership, a rockin' e-book is in works, I am now making a substantial amount of money through the blog to finally justify all of my hard work (and so I don't have to go back to work) and tons more fun projects and partnerships were had. A successful year indeed.

But in looking forward 2010 was A LOT of work. Work I enjoy, but a lot of it. My mantra for 2011 then is "DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND LOVE WHAT YOU DO". I hope to refine my blog... continually making it more a better reflection of myself and continually making it more enjoyable for me to produce and you all to read.

This outfit was a typical weekend day (I hardly ever take pictures on weekends...) but we were all feeling super lazy, but wanted to go out for breakfast. So I threw on a bunch of warm and cozies and we headed out. It was a perfect weekend outfit.
