my outfit: breakin' all the rules!

"Now I hate to tell you but it's got to be said, there's a bunny on your head." This is a quote from one of the kids and I's favorite books called A Boy and His Bunny. It very cute...

ANY WAY. Back to the bunny on your head. Or my head. Or the collective, "our" head. There are some things that just HAVE to be said.

The first is easy. I have white pants (technically jeans) on and it's before Memorial Day. A "rule" that I am all about breaking. So I say to you... go forth and wear white pants... but for the love of God, don't forget to wear nude undies.

(I'm sensing I may be on a soap-box here, yes, in fact I am... keep reading if you dare or just look at the pictures, I'm fine with that too).

The next is a bit tougher... but as I said earlier, I hate to tell you, but it's got to be said. Moms give moms a bad name in the wardrobe department. I mean COME ON LADIES. I took the kiddos to the botanical gardens this morning for a little romp and some sun. It was a blast. It was also full of moms with the same idea as me.

Now I admit I sometimes go to great lengths to be overall "put together" you know... a decent stroller (come on people, stop buying those UGLY strollers!), NO diaper bags for kids that can walk and talk, my kids are dressed, my kids hair is combed - I know, really great lengths huh?

But some of these ladies don't even try with the easy things. I'm just going to come out and say it: you should brush your hair in the mornings ladies, I know a shower is tough, but a brush, come on! And your kids, I mean, they don't need to be decked out in the latest fashions, but their hair could use some brushing too and maybe even a little face wash. And don't even get me started on what the moms are wearing...

I'm not claiming I'm perfect - I am NOT! But lets TRY ladies... try to look cute... try something besides sweatpants and old ratty shoes! Try, try, TRYYYYYY!

I love this outfit and you know what, it's not that HARD or EXPENSIVE of an outfit to put together, really.

It's white jeans, a decent fitting T-shirt, a cute necklace and some sandals. I know for a fact that this entire ensemble didn't cost more than... wait for it $50. Seriously. If there is one thing I could accomplish in my lifetime it would be to have moms dress better and FEEL better about themselves everyday. We need this ladies! We are the back bones of our communities, of our families and our children look up to us!

Whew, that was a soap-box if I ever saw one. Also, while I still have the mic - stop buying fake Coach purses. Really, I am done now.
