good LOOK for less: EXPRESS, Heather!

Today's good look for less EXPRESS consult is for Heather... here's a little bit about her:

I'm a 24-year-old vet student about to graduate in April. I haven't updated my wardrobe in a long time - I guess because I haven't wanted to deal with trying on clothes all day long and finding nothing I like! I guess you would call what I need business casual - we can't wear jeans but khakis and cords are fine. Most of all, I need a wardrobe that will allow me to move around, stay on my feet all day (low to mid heels or flats), and kneel/crawl around on the floor while performing exams on animals, hopefully while looking put-together! Bonus points if it all looks good under a white jacket :-)

I think business casual can be one of the harder types of outfits to put together. For some reason, which I can't put my finger on, it's an awkward place between casual and formal. But for today's outfits I hope to take some of the guesswork out of business casual and focus on simple and stylish ways to pull off this look.

For this first look I chose simple basics like a sweater tunic and corduroy jeans and added fun accessories and color. I don't know about you, but spring is already on my mind and this outfit has a definite spring vibe while still providing the warmth that February and March temps call for.

In my opinion, really great slacks or trousers are the key to unlocking the challenges of a business casual wardrobe. High quality trousers can be a bit expensive, but with proper care and dry cleaning, they can last a very long time. I've paired great trousers here with fun and stylish tops and bold accessories to keep the entire look stylish. Plus, great tops like these can be paired with jeans for weekend and social wear.

Solid investment pieces, like trousers and blazers can also make an outfit very polished and professional looking, while fun accessories can still give your outfits personality.
