my everyday style: Christmas traditions, 2!

I thought it would be fun to chat about another Christmas tradition that I love to keep each year.  Yesterday I talked about why they are so special to me... you can read about that here. Another Christmas tradition that is a favorite is the 'day date' with my husband.  Usually this time of year he has way too much left over vacation to really use, so he can take a day off on a random week day.  He and I get to hang together while the kids are at school - which is so rare and also really super fun.  Usually there is some "chores" involved like a few items from the 'honey-do' list or some Christmas present wrapping.  But there is also some fun involved... wrapping up Christmas shopping together, grabbing a boozy lunch and generally just taking in the holiday spirit together without kids makes for a pretty fun and memorable day.

It's fun to dress up a little to spend the day together... but this look would be just as perfect for Christmas with your family, a casual holiday party or a night out with the girls.  I love the monochromatic feel to this look. Jeans and a blazer look extra special while still being comfortable yet festive. A little lace always adds that extra layer of festive fun.  We recently were out together and walked by a Christmas tree lot.  The smell was absolutely intoxicating! I just love the scent of fresh pine - so we had to stop in and take in all the smells and ohhh and ahhh over the trees.  It really put us in the holiday spirit!

Do you ever do day dates with your guy?
