chicago recap!

Oh man... days later and I am still in awe of how much fun Linda and I had in Chicago.  First off, it was so fun to meet her in person!  But it felt like we had just seen each other the week before... that's what I love about meeting blog buddies - we felt like we totally knew each other already!  Linda is just what you would expect: bubbly, fun and gorgeous - she's a total natural beauty.  We were natural shopping partners and had fun trying on tons and tons of clothes.  This post is going to be photo heavy... but here we go!

I went bonkers for all of the red and pink in Zara.  A few of these pieces came home with me!

Linda looked so adorable with a scarf tied on her head in the Anthropologie fitting room - she can totally pull it off.

Getting ready for day two of shopping here (we both have a little sleepy face -boo!)... we stayed at the Raffaello hotel.  I had found a great deal on Hotwire and it was the PERFECT location for shopping and eating.  The hotel staff was really warm and helpful and they even upgraded us to a suite.  We both took the train into Union Station from our respective home towns and then a taxi to the hotel. Once we got the hotel we walked everywhere.  It was a really super location.

Breakfast at Starbucks... naturally.  We used the Yelp app a lot to find what we were looking for. I'm from Chicago and have been there millions of times it seems, but a lot of places had changed location or I simply had forgotten where they were. I highly suggest using Yelp!  Other stops we made for food and drinks were Big Bowl, The Cheesecake Factory, Garrett's Popcorn (it's a MUST visit!) and Argo Tea.  I love Argo Tea and Linda was instantly hooked too!

These are for Jackie.  Animal head hooks from Urban Outfitters. Super cute.

These are for me. Gorgeous silky pillows from Urban Outfitters. I think I may order these online, I didn't want to carry pillows through all of the city, but they are gorgeous in person!

Checking out in H&M - I was in heaven there! Woo!

Quick photo after conquering the 2 (very full) floors of Forever 21 - um, random matching sunglasses anyone?  Linda and I were mistaken for teenagers, college students and sisters - all in two days!

Trying on shoes at Nordstrom's... we both tried the grey Minnetonka's... the reviews were mixed. It's hard to think about suede shoes this time of year. Maybe for fall!

Quick outfit snaps along Michigan Avenue... it was so busy - no one even cared we were doing random poses right along the road!

Gorgeous flowers in our hotel lobby. I'm a sucker for flowers...

On the train ride home I had this gorgeous view of the sunset over Lake Michigan... ahhhh... the perfect end to a great weekend!

Oh, and the 'haul' - here is a quick snap I took in my bedroom when I got home.  Stay tuned for outfit photos for details on all that I got... but I definitely got a lot of fun stuff!  When in Chicago... one MUST shop.

I hope you enjoyed my recap!

And you ladies definitely look alike. I started following both of your blogs around the same time and it took me a few days to get you two straight :P

Chicago is one of my favorite places to shop. When I lived in Indianapolis, I would take the train there often to shop all day, meet with friends, and then head back late at night. You girls look so cute and I cannot wait to see how you style your new pieces.

Looks like SUCH a fun trip! I've never read Linda's blog but now I think I have to start. Jealous of your pile of loot. Kind of extra fun to bring home all kinds of new stuff in one swoop instead of piece by piece.

I am so envious of your shopping trip in Chicago. I went to college there and loved going downtown to shop on a lovely tight college student budget but none the less it is incredible! It looks like you and Linda had a blast. I lam loving that scarf, where is it from?
