what to wear: weekend!

In a few short weeks I will return to my usual post as "soccer mom"on Saturday mornings.  My son plays U-6 and my daughter can't wait to follow in her brother's footsteps and will start next fall in U-5 so it's safe to say this is a permanent situation for me.  Cold, rain, sun or sleet I'll be cheering them on with reckless abandon.

The key for me is to try and stay stylish, but to keep warm and dry too.  My soccer mom basics are wellies, layers and a scarf.

This outfit would be just perfect!

Now that the weather is (hopefully) turning, will you be partaking of any spectator sports on the weekends?

Have a great weekend!

I'm a fairly new reader. You have a great, relatable blog! I love the outfits you pick out for the weekend. Your description of your kids' soccer games reminds me of going to my older brother's as a child in cold, rainy WA. :)

I'm kicking myself for not buying a pair of Loeffler Randall rain boots when they were the Lucky Deal of the Day recently. Natalie didn't stick with soccer, she wants to try karate next! So maybe I will be a karate mom!

I'm a soccer mom too! My son plays U7. Your season starts a lot later than ours. They started in February and are already halfway through the season. Maybe it's a weather thing. We are in Texas.

Bob's going to play softball this summer, but it's always really hot by then. I usually wear skirts to keep cool! But this outfit looks really cozy and awesome!

Jackie, Karate sounds fun! Can't wait to hear more about that!

Sara, we would be playing in the snow if we started that early! :)

Linda, Andrew used to play softball, those games DO get hot! Sheesh!

I love everything about this post. The outfit is great...and I can totally relate to spending the weekends watching sports. I'm a baseball mom right now and a soccer mom in the fall. Currently I spend every Tuesday and Saturday at the baseball field. Baseball is crazy because you spend the first half of the season freezing your buns off, and the second half you're blazing hot.

Have a great weekend!

Oh, yes, I am an Ohio soccer mom with three kids who play. Stood out in the cold at practice yesterday with gloves and wellies due to mud. Love your outfit idea -- keep posting those soccer mom suggestions please.

I really like the top. I am by no means a soccer mom but I would wear this in a heartbeat.

I think you made me realize that I need to make more of an effort with my soccer mom appearance. All 3 of mine play soccer (U7, U9) and I am typically bundled up and don't care. but come baseball, I try and look cute. Hrm
