my outfit: oldest trick in the book!

all black. What can I say? It was just one of those days! I love wearing all black, you don't have to worry about matching and you can pretty much put any accessories on and they just "work."

Since there isn't much to say about this outfit... or in general (words escape me I guess), I figured I would turn the tables and let you gals do the talking. Every once in a while I like to make sure I am in tune with what my readers love/like or otherwise (by the way, if you have mean words - forget about it.)

So send it my way, is there a feature you absolutely love and want more of? Is there a feature you like but you have a suggestion on how it could be more helpful to you? Is there something I am missing... something that would make your trip here more helpful or memorable? Remember, this is should be constructive and helpful for all of us... I'll reiterate: mean words or slander WILL be deleted. So don't waste your time or mine, I'm not fishing for compliments... just your helpful opinions.

Have at it!

i love wearing all black. you are right, it's so easy...and it always looks chic (done right) great scarf. Just by adding a leopard scarf to that, you could change your whole look...for the next day...love your blog!

I loved it when you did the Fall Preview of what was available in the various stores. That was so helpful to me, and I actually went to Charlotte Russe, where I normally would not go, and bought a few great pieces that were very reasonably priced. That feature was super helpful.

I love your Fashion Formulas and all your outfits too. I also enjoyed the Fall Preview of the different stores.

Nothing wrong with black! Sometimes it's just more fun to be comfy, but you've definitely done it in a stylish way. :)

Yes, I like the fashion formulas type posts as well. I'm Canadian, so a lot of the stores and specific items you post aren't available to me. So I like the idea of thinking in terms of formulas or styles, and having several examples that apply the formula.

Love your all black. You looks so stylish. Ditto what Kelly said. I had never been in Charlotte Russe before I "met" you. :)

My fave posts are probably seeing what you wear and why you put them together. You've got great style!

Have a great day!

I would love to see more frequent fashion formulas. I also look forward to seeing your daily outfits -- very inspiring. It would be great to see you highlight one particular type of clothing (for example, a long cardigan) and show how you styled it various different ways. You might even be able to pull old daily outfits featuring the same clothing item and post them all together to compare and contrast. I find the real life shots of clothing on you to be easier to process than pictures of clothing, although both are helpful.

Love your blog!

Agreed! All black is definitely an easy option if I'm not sure what to wear. As for feedback, I enjoy your outfit posts (especially when you smile) and the wardrobe consults. And could you post a few more Blogging Bits? Overall, everything is great and I really enjoy reading your blog.

would love to see you do a series of outfits for moms...what's realistic to wear when chasing around a little one but still looking modern, fresh & put together.
love the whole blog!

Some people say that black outfits are boring, but when you add a scarf and beautiful flats, it is so stylish and gorgeous!
Simple and beautiful!

I love this outfit - it's a no brainer, but with style and finesse! I love the glimpses into your personal life that we get in your blog - it makes you real. Keep up the good work!

I know you're not going into the office every day, so it's not the most practical, but some business casual outfits would be the most helpful for me.

I tend to wear black a lot...it's just easier and you can work with similar pieces! Like the scarf too...I am a scarf girl and I am happy to report temps here in NC are dropping...finally ;)

Hey Jill! I miss the search box. I would use it when I had an item I wanted to wear but wanted to check some examples of how you've styled it. Any chance you can bring it back?

Looking good, as always, my friend. xo

i looooove your new bag. it is so unbelievably perfect, especially with such a great all black look! you do look so "audrey". (i really need to learn how to use gilt.) i glanced through the other comments & am in close agreement. outfits, definitely my fave. i love the formulas & the fall preview was really awesome & so helpful.

i really liked your "closet" videos where you would style a simple outfit with accessories (scarves, bracelets, etc.) just right there. i hope you do something like that again as well. you are so amazingly dedicated jill! & your blog definitely reflects that!

p.s. i can't help thinking how sad it is that you had to post that last sentence. it's just disappointing to hear that maybe some of us haven't grown past our high-school girl mentality of putting others down to make ourselves feel better. you are my favorite fashion blogger. REAL, REACHABLE & BEAUTIFUL! unfortunately, there are still a few of us who need to grow up a little more before we use the internet.
