capsule collections...

I mentioned earlier this week an idea that I had brewing to showcase what I will call "capsule collections" here on the blog. Basically taking some of the outfits that I post (the ones I actually wear) and showing you the variations of individual pieces. Because really, my wardrobe is not that huge and far reaching... usually what I wear on a daily basis is a variation of something I have already worn.

My hope is that these visuals will help you put good use to the items in your closet. A lot of times I hear people say "I feel like I wear the same thing over and over" - and really, unless you are like Oprah, and never wear the same thing twice, we all really have to repeat items in our closet.

The key is to repeat individual pieces... not whole outfits. Get the distinction?

Here's an example of what the capsule collections will look like from previous outfits I've worn...

(shopping details here, here & here)

I'm already brainstorming like crazy on more of these... definitely look for more in July (I'm under the illusion that July will be easier than June... ha, time will tell!).

Does this look, at first glance, like it will be helpful to you?

Yes! Being on a budget, I'm trying to really stretch my clothing, and thinking of how many ideas I could use said item for. Thanks for sharing this!

I agree with Elle completely. Does look like it will be useful and NOT something you see on other "fashion blogs."

Yes! I've been hoping someone would do something like this soon!

Yes! I really like to see re-mixed items on blogs because I get more inspiration from that, as opposed to a constant stream of new items worn (seemingly) only once.

Great post! And great a great way to illustrate repeats in different variations. I just found your blog. Love it!
