Hi, this is Christina from Down and Out Chic and I'm thrilled to be guest posting while Jill is on vacation (lucky lady!) Since we're all here, and she's there (someplace better than here), let's make the best of it, shall we? I thought I'd share my take on this season hottest trends with a throw back to the past. If you've been around for any amount of time, I'm sure you've realized that the trends you thought would NEVER come back, are consistently coming back with a new and fresh spin (yes, I'm talking to you acid wash jeans).
Let's take a peek at these vintage pieces that are surprisingly modern and currently trendy:
Sequins:
Vintage boho black vest in silk sequins lace $38.99

via Sapia
Plaid:
vintage FALL PLAID mini skirt $34

Cowl Neck Sweater:
Vintage Olivia Sweater Dress $30

via ashlee bonapartel
All shades of Purple:
Vintage Amethyst Rose Party Dress 1960's $140

via Small Earth Vintage
If you're interested in why I shop vintage, check out D&OC's five top reasons here. Remember, all of these pieces are begging to be paired with modern accessories, slim cuts and a creative, fresh perspective!
xo,
Christina

Too bad I didn't keep some of these things. I do so remember them. Hugs, Marty
Lovely selection, oh the palid skirt!
you have some fabulous stuff here! pic #1 is my favorite! and it is so funny how stuff comes and goes. i am SLOWLY learning not to get rid of stuff when it goes out of style, as chances are it will come back in style sooner or later!
That first number has my name all over it! I agree with you about vintage. I'm always kicking myself for having gotten rid of pieces when they come around again.
I love down & out chic ... i read her blog daily as well!
P.S. I'm on a mission to create the Ultimate Happy Playlist. Please stop by and let me know what song instantly makes you happy when you hear it!

That last one seems very Michelle Obama-esque. I love it.
