good LOOK for less: Amy, artist and aspiring actress!

Amy contacted me recently about a good LOOK for less wardrobe consultation...

Here is how she describes her style:

I love clothes! Favorites include fitted jackets/coats, trenchcoats (I love my UNIQLO trench!), comfy Ts, jeans, boots, cute shoes, hand-knit sweaters, DIY items, vintage clothing (mainly Victorian/Edwardian and 1930s inspired fashions and accessories). My prized possession: LV pochette. I'm a sucker for anything cute. Favorite colors: white, brown, greens, yellows, blues, ivory--colors that reflect nature.

I was definitely getting the earthy, creative, artist vibe from Amy. And I love it! Here is what I came up with for a mini wardrobe booster for the summer months:

For bottoms I chose a fun flirty skirt in a modern print that has a vintage flair and a pair of relaxed boyfriend jeans, not only are they the MUST have for this season, but they also say simple yet artistic. For layering tops I chose a fitted and vibrant blazer that is still flexible enough to throw on easily and also a flowy knitted cardigan top. For the basic tops I chose tanks in a couple different cuts and styles and tried to keep the colors interesting yet classic for easy mixing and matching. As always, great accessories such as shoes, handbags, scarfs and jewelry finish the look perfectly! I was able to compile 17 new wardrobe pieces with a budget of only $400!

Shopping list:

From these items I came up several outfits... here are a couple:

As a follow up... Amy LOVED the wardrobe ideas... here is what she had to say to me in an email:
Dear Jill!
Wow, talk about an amazing mix! Thank you so much for helping me--I'm so very happy with what you picked out for me! I would have never thought to pick these items out myself, but after seeing them put together on the wardrobe board, all I can say is "wow, I love it!" Thank you again, so very much! You did a fabulous job and I'm blogging/tweeting/facebooking/myspacing about it all over the Internet!
Well done!
Thank you again,
-Amy Schulz
